Hotels around Kao Takiab

Post by rosso »

Hello everbody

I m planning for my next holiday and like to stay this time in the near from Kao Takiab. Any recommendations for a nice hotel ? What about Ocean Breeze or Takiab Beach Hotel ?
I dont need a 5 star hotel but I like to have a good breakfast and somewhere a cosy bar.

Thanks for any comments

Hi rosso,
we stayed at takiab beach hotel begin of the year. It's really one of the best price quality relations u could find. The hotel is very clean and has about 24 rooms all with airco,tv,fridge and hot water. The breakfast is not really a big buffet.Just Toasts, jam, fresh fruit and eggs any style u like. There are actually 2 or 3 karaoke bars on the road to HH but not very entertaining. The nights are very calm down there.Anyway you can charter a pick up to the centrum for 100 Baht. That's the way we did.Or at daytime with a regular pickup bus for 8 Baht.

We have just returned from HH 2 weeks ago. When we 1st looked at HH, was going to stay at the place that you asked about.

As we had not been before, decided that it may be a bit far out and we decided on this place (Baan Duangkaew Resort 83/158 Soi Talay 12, Takiab Rd., Hua-Hin Prachuabkhirikhan Thailand).

The resort we stayed at was about 4kms out of town and is on the way down to the Kao Takiab Beach Resort. It has 14 individual Thai style bungalows that have King Beds, A/C, TV, bar fridge, hot/cold showers, balconies and 2 swimming pools. Most of the bungalows look out onto the pools.
Breakfast was good, had their own small resteraunt, sold beer but had no bar as such.

We did go and have a look at the property that you asked about and must admit, could see nothing wrong with it at all. Is about 100meters from the beach, but also has its own pool.
It is about another 3/4 kms past where we stayed.

In HH, there is a 5km stretch of beach which goes from the town down to the fishing village at Kao Takiab beach (where there is then a big mountain with a huge gold statue on it.).
There is a fishing village at the base of the mountain and on the other side of that mountain is the Kao Takiab beach resort.

I am glad that we stayed where we did, as although we were about 100m from the beach, we could walk either way up and down the beach and go in and have a drink and some food in all of the 4/5 star properties that are on the beach front.
From where we stayed, it took about 15mins to walk to the fishing village, and if you go the other way, about 30mins walk to the town
Not far from where we stayed (on the way to the fishing village, there is a bar called Lets Sea and is well worth a vist.

In the fishing village are a lot of good eating places and very reasonably priced.

If you have a look at the forum at some of my previous posts that I have made since the 12th July 2005, you will find a lot of info about my time in HH.
Hope that helps you
Steve
