VIP Convoys

Post by Terry »

Most of us who've been here for a while will probably accept that the three little letters V - I - P are possibly the most overused inferred English expression.

On my journey up to Bangkok this morning I encountered no less than 5 different VIP Bus Convoys all with their hazard lights blinking away and all with the obligatory Police Car escort...........WHY? :guns:

Seems crazy to me that these leviathans of the road NEED an escort anyway! :cuss:

"Tis very common to be mown down / carved up by these mobile Christmas Trees - so why the escort? Also, why is it that RED traffic lights are not applicable to them?

Yep - you've guessed it the buses are VIP! Says so on the front! IN BIG LETTERS

SO - in the run up to the Festive Season, beware - in case one with a giant Fairey on the top should attack you....

Rant Over

P.S I should take comfort - Mrs. T is a VIP. She has an MK Suki VIP Card to prove it. Maybe I should ask.

Anyone can book an escort via the BIB - just pay the fee and you can have the lights, bells and whistles too. True. :) :guns:

When you say Convoy I think of CW MCall' his country western song, and the classic B movie "Convoy".

Can you dig it?

I'll agree about VIP being overused.

Is everyone at VIP Condo really a V-I-P?
I was so horny when I woke up this morning the crack of dawn looked good!

About ten years ago I was working in Surabaya, Eastern Java where there are quite a few military bases. All the top brass from these bases used to go everywhere in ridiculous motorcades with outriders, lights, sirens and the whole works.
Getting in the way of these convoys was not a good idea; it happened once that an ex-pat acquaintance of mine accidentally got his car in the middle of a convoy. A jeep full of M-16 toting MP’s roared alongside his car and started putting dents into it with large night-sticks!
