All over the place so far this weekend despite the rain not really appearing as expected - chances are it won't make an appearance during the main race tomorrow either... That said, Qualifying was far from boring with a huge result for McLaren with Norris on P2 and Piastri - followed by the two Ferraris and in turn the two Mercs. LH I'm sure will have been hoping for some rain..... Still though, an interesting race ahead I think.

Silverstone has to be one of if not the best tracks on the F1 circuit IMHO - but then it's the home of the British GP, so I'm biased! Great support for the British drivers and teams, great racing and huge crowds - some 450,000+ over the race weekend at 160,000+ for race day!

Certainly didn't disappoint today - all racing from the get-go with Norris getting the jump on Crashappen at the start - only lasting 4 laps unfortunately.... Superb race overall from McClaren, signs of hope for Mercedes and a bad day at the office for the Scuderia - 9th and 10th for Leclerc and Sainz respectively, plus a blown engine for Haas who Ferarri supply...

RB now tie McLaren for the most consecutive F1 wins on 11.... Back in the days of Senna and Prost (1988 Season).

Thought I did everything this week. Pole. Fastest lap. Positions. Even followed what happened in qualifying. :?

Ho hum, early doors yet... I've time to catch up. Got a good feeling about that yellow cap next race. :D

He's back.....!! Have to feel for de Vries, but results count for everything - let's see what Ricciardo can do in the same car. I wonder how much longer Perez will last - are we looking at Ricciardo moving up next season? Would be interesting considering the relationship he has with Crashappen...

Daniel Ricciardo Replaces Nyck de Vries in Show of Ruthlessness from Red Bull

"Daniel Ricciardo, the Red Bull reserve driver, has been moved to a race seat at AlphaTauri to replace the underperforming Nyck de Vries, who has been ousted from the team. The Australian, who has won eight grands prix, will take over at AlphaTauri with immediate effect and make his return to the Formula One grid at the next round in Hungary on 23 July.

AlphaTauri is Red Bull’s sister team and the move was described in a statement as Ricciardo going “on loan” for the remainder of the 2023 season. “I am stoked to be back on track with the Red Bull family,” the 34-year-old said."

Well, as Superbru seem reluctant to send out reminders these days - just another heads up to make your picks.

What in God's name were Mercedes thinking in Q1  :banghead: ??!!! Both LH and GR were put out with barely enough time left in the session for a single "Out Lap" and "Flying Lap".... Anything could have happened, a Yellow Flag or Red Flag would have knocked both drivers out, as it turned out, Russell was caught in traffic and his qualifying hopes ended there and then placing him 18th on the Grid for tomorrow's race - FFS!! :cuss: To make things even worse for Russell, the car has certainly proven quick enough here to compete with the best - clearly shown by Hamilton taking Pole no less!! :thumb:   His 1st since 2021 and a record 9th for any single track.

Going into Qualifying things were always going to be interesting with new tyre regs being brought in - for this race initially but will be back on a couple more occasions this season. Basically, the tyre allocation for all teams will be reduced from 13 sets to 11 sets, The biggest change however being that it was compulsory for all teams to use Hard Tyres for Q1, Mediums for Q2 and Softs for Q3. Getting data in from Free Practice made all the more difficult with FP1 being a washout and FP2 and FP3 completely different conditions. RB and Crashappen had a new upgrade in place which was reportedly going to give them a further 0.2 secs per lap improvement..... Too early to tell yet, that's for sure.

A difficult track to overtake on and an interesting Top 4 on the Grid makes this a race to look forward to IMHO - strategies and tyre selection especially important here.... :thumb:

Six hours later and Pete still hasn't bigged up my progression. I'm not angry, just disappointed.
