Agree with essbee about Anantara. Just come back after our 4th stay. Rooms haven’t been updated for at least ten years. Saying that, it’s still a lovely place, staff there are great.

Dangerous - hi

Agree with what you are saying to some extent. Came back from Anantara on 10th March - were you there at the same time?

Our room had been redecorated and was in better condition than the one we had 2 years ago. The thing that I noticed the most was that they seem to have cut down on staff. The grounds where the sun loungers are, around the Sai Thong, weren't cleaned overnight, the loungers were often a mess and the system (or lack of it) for providing pool towels was a joke.

Despite this the hotel, staff and food were still very good - we love the place! The gardens and the style of the buildings are hard to beat.

Cheers

Yes we were there at that time, left on the 17th. We have stayed at the Anantara for the last 3 years and haven’t seen any improvements to the rooms, and from what we can remember are the same as when the Anantara was called the Royal Garden Village years ago.

Not sure if they had cut the staff down and didn’t spend any time around the pool, just the beach. What we did notice was that the Anantara are holding more commercial events which took up a lot of the sea front space.

We also love the place, but as we have just purchased a property so we will not be staying at the Anantara any more, but have enjoyed everyday we have stayed there.

Dave.
