Actually, I think, Gareth Bale would be envious of your foot work and dribbling skills. You were playing football, weren't you?

Re: HHForum Ten Year Celebrations
I had a nasty feeling we'd miss all the fun...
We could only stay a couple of hours and had to leave just before the fireworks. As we drove away, I said to Mrs DM "I think we're going to regret this."
Oh, we did, we did! (I'll explain that on the Indian restaurant thread.)
Anyway, we very much enjoyed the time we did spend there. A lot of animated conversation going on all over the place (nice to meet you, JJB); some old faces and some new. A lot of fishing, too, when we first got there. Shook many hands for the first time (was yours one of them, pharvey?), but didn't get to say more than hello and goodbye to most of them. Ah well, next time.
Incidentally, this turned out to be an ideal venue for such a do.

Our photos (from 3 cameras - hence similar photos on duplicated sequences) from yesterday. It is a slideshow, so just click the link, and watch the show. A BIG thank you to Terry, my family had a lovely day. What a lovely set up you have there - photos on your website don't do the place justice. Our photos concentrate mainly on the fishing, and the kiddies play area. Unfortunately, I only caught the fish once, even though it appears in 2 sequences.

Big Boy, those photos show you sitting in those plastic chairs that you said you'd never sit in...
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
Re: HHForum Ten Year Celebrations
This is true I did have to change chairs at one stage - the first was too wobbly with my bulk. What I say is that I will not pay to eat in a restaurant where the seating is garden furniture. The furniture in Terry's restaurant was first class, and very sturdy. I would not expect to find such quality furniture left around a fishing lake, left to rot away in the weather.
Having said that, there were several salas around the lake which had very stury wooden seating. I started in one of those, but missed 2 strong bites when I hit the sala roof when striking.
Don't forget, I am now 11 Stones lighter, so am prepared to risk life and limb on plastic if the right conditions prevail. However, I am very cautious.

It was great putting some faces to names, a very pleasant afternoon/evening. Thanks Terry for the hospitality and thanks to the mad welshman for creating an explosion that the Taliban would be proud of!

Re: HHForum Ten Year Celebrations
Indeed it was a great time and thanks so much to you, Terry, for hosting the whole event. Meeting people offline over a few cold ones is always more fun than tapping away at a keyboard and thanks to Buksida, Huahinian, DP, Major Bloodnok, Expat TV and especially dtaai-maai for making me feel so welcome.
Sadly I had dinner duty with the outlaws so missed the visual feast that was the fireworks but we ended-up having dinner not too far from the Lodge and, by God, did we hear those things go off just before 8pm, it was like a 21-gun salute - very fitting for such a worthy milestone. Ten years and still going strong, it's something you can all be proud of; well done!

Re: HHForum Ten Year Celebrations
Hello everyone.
thanks to Terry for providing a great venue, service, food & entertainment, including his dancing Gangnam style and failing to hit his guests by firing all calibres of fireworks at them.
Next time the choice of venue should not require a vote.
It was great meeting most of the hardcore members of the Forum, and finally being able to put a face to their names.

Yep, it was a great day.
Really good to meet some old faces again and see some new ones.
Fantastic firework display from Terry and a marvellous atmosphere at the Fishing Lodge as usual.
So here's to the next 10 years
