Re: Thailand's dark side: why you really shouldn't visit Koh Tao
The point made in the title of this thread is that KT is an unlawful dangerous place. This opinion is held by many people both Thai and Farang. This is not as a result of any one event but because of multiple episodes.

She's a 19 yr old girl, the island is not known for it's shining bastions of law and order and justice. Show one ounce of basic human empathy and put your self in her shoes if (and I repeat IF) she had been raped. If I came across a 19 yr on that island telling me that story, I would strongly advise her to get the fcuk off the island, if not the land, and take time to think and decide what action to take. Reporting a rape must be a hefty decision for any woman to make, let alone someone who is basically a kid, miles from home and family, in a land where the police force are nothing like those most of us are used to, and on an island that is bad even by Thai standards of policing.europtimiste wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 9:46 pm She left for UK with a T-Shirt and gave to the British police for DNA test, as she didn't trust to Thai police, OK and whats then ? Why didn't she come back to file complain at Koh Tao police with the result of DNA. She would be escorted by Bangkok police and I am sure would not be killed.
But hey, knock yourself out calling her a lying bitch. It says a hell of a lot about you as a person.
Mods, my apologies if I have broken any rules (even the non-written ones)

Euro????? Where did you read that she went on to the full moon party and then finished her holiday.
The reports I've read are quite different and reports that she returned to the UK ahead of schedule as she 'just wanted to get home'.
I'm sure you're enjoying yourself in your usual 'mode'!

As I said before, ignore him. No matter what he says, ignore him or he'll go on and on wanking away to get himself off.

I wish this situation should be clarified and the only way is that this girl come back to Thailand with her family and maybe with an official from UK. And what about this DNA test on her T-Shirt ???? The silence is not on her side.MDMK wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 10:46 pmShe's a 19 yr old girl, the island is not known for it's shining bastions of law and order and justice. I guess you missed the article, cannot read, because a bad sight or bad will.
Re: Thailand's dark side: why you really shouldn't visit Koh Tao
That's not a statement of fact but gleaned from a 'police interview' with the hostel owner. The commander repeated that the girl did not file her rape complaint right away although her hostel owner urged her to do so. Instead, the girl went to Koh Phangan for a full moon party and informed Koh Phangan police in the afternoon of June 27 of the loss of her valuables on Koh Tao -- but not of the rape, he said.
Re: Thailand's dark side: why you really shouldn't visit Koh Tao
think that she had the pure bad luck of being raped (allegedly raped) the day before a full moon party
if she'd been raped a week earlier then left the island the next day and made the same trip then that would have been one less stone the likes of Euro and everyone else who just blindly assumes she is a liar could have thrown.

Re: Thailand's dark side: why you really shouldn't visit Koh Tao
And what ? Did she told you what she did ? should you have witnesses from Koh Phangan ? Is that so important for you ? We know some facts from police and the hostel owner. Isn't that enough ?HHTel wrote: ↑Thu Sep 06, 2018 2:59 pmThat's not a statement of fact but gleaned from a 'police interview' with the hostel owner. The commander repeated that the girl did not file her rape complaint right away although her hostel owner urged her to do so. Actually I am curious to know the DNA report from UK police. A DNA test can tell a lot. I will not be surprised that the test will tells that the rapist is not an Asian, but a whitie.....and maybe a Brit....
The hostel owner also told that this girl was not alone, she was with other Brits, they were 5.

Interesting suggestion....who knows ?MDMK wrote: ↑Thu Sep 06, 2018 4:03 pm think that she had the pure bad luck of being raped (allegedly raped) the day before a full moon party

If I come back to the topic of a forum member who said: Why you really shouldn't visit Koh Tao.
I remind to all that since Hannah an David's murder in 2014 and other mysterious deaths and disappearances this island is doing very well. Young people from all around the world want to enjoy with all excesses as be drunk, intoxicated, jumping from your balcony into the swimming pool and..and and... They take some risks and even a lot of risks.
They will not think at dramas and all what happened. Nobody can change that. Everybody should be aware of dangers and behave.
Re: Thailand's dark side: why you really shouldn't visit Koh Tao
Of course it's not enough. We know some facts from police and the hostel owner. Isn't that enough ?
I wish you'd go and live there.
Re: Thailand's dark side: why you really shouldn't visit Koh Tao
Euro, you say the word of a hostel owner should be enough to convince us all that this girl is falsely accusing of rape
so you wouldn't mind being accused of rape based on one person's say so ? NB: one person who wasn't even an eye witness. That would be okay with you?
we don't need courts, we don't need evidence, no, all we need is a 2nd hand say so from someone somewhere who didn't even see the (alleged) crime saying "this is what happened"
This is stupid.
No one as far as I can see is saying this girl's story as she tells it now is 100% accurate, no, we all know that's what courts and due procedure is for. To get all the details so an informed opinion can be made.
You're the only one stating you KNOW what happened, you KNOW she lied,
You know diddly squat. You're taking one or two details, having no idea how those details have been collected, the reliability of the person(s) providing them, and reaching wild conclusions and stating you KNOW the truth.
And you're conveniently repeatedly skipping over the fact that this island has a reputation for a reason.

Enough with all those stupid affirmations from this forum specialists.
I am waiting for facts and as I said DNA results from a highly respectable police: UK POLICE
