All I like is a good balance between
up to date Western rock music on powerful hi-fi hardware,
decent pool tables and a high BG turnover.

PS: Stadium Arcadium is out now ... :guns:

What would I Like in a bar in H.H.

Post by raphoe »

Been to many bars and eating houses in HH, in agreement with some previous posts I would like;

Proper bar stools, comfortable.

An Itinery of what sport is available to watch that evening.

A decent juke box with current/recent/classic chart hits.

A clean toilet (this should have been top of this list).

An honest casheir/bar staff (it gets hard to keep tabs after 12 chang).

No watch or flower sellers (although mai auw cab seems to work).

No recycled saucers of nuts.

A great celection of beers (including drauft)

Friendly attentive non pushy service.

Thats my tuppence worth in no particular order.

Great string.

i'm just new to this site but i have been to hua hin three times and coming again soon.
i'd just like to add that there are good live bands in thailand but the venues are often mis matched to the band. see some good musos in the mid size bars and restaurants but they are so volume restricted they cant really play with any feel. then you go to the hilton which is a good looking venue but the bands are awful, they dont match the demographic of the audience. i notice on this site that the hilton gets a slagging in a few threads. i think they should spend a bit more and get some better quality bands.also the DJ is always a million decibels louder than the band and the sound mix of the band is a also awful!!..sorry guys!!
asia is one of the last regions of the world where there are still live bands as opposed ta plethora of wanky DJ's with silly hats on sideways playing music that is good for the kiddies bit not for grown adults with disposable income who still enjoy live music but can never really find it.ie: a great deal of the type of people who visit thailand!!
so my two bobs worth is.... better bands= better venues= better clients=better $$ through bums on seats...bums of the 30-50 year olds who still like to hear good live music, not rap tachno or grunge or at the other end of the spectrum, awful cabaret, show tunes type music.
i have also seen some excellent thai singers and musos in hua hin..but the sound is bad..its a shame, they just cant do themselve justice!!

Not to mention free massage, free girls... :P

Actually, it would be nice to have beer more widely available in pints rather than bottles

- and how about a condom machine with european johnny's inside?

They may call themselves Durex, but I'm sure those Thai branded ones are smaller

Manners would be nice. A simple please and thank you costs nothing. In town this weekend at several venues you would expect the younger of us to be lacking in them ,the papers are full of stories about the younger generations lacking moral fibre and simple manners. But not the case here time after time it's "beer" and the waving of the thousand Baht note in the cashiers face. Seems that there is a large amount of miserable tourists in town are they jealous of the LOS or is this normal behavior in Europe these days

Interesting ... maybe the bar owners could start a thread "What they would most like to see from a customer!"

 I bet there's as many complaints there as there are in this one.

What i would like to see in huahin is bars with better toilets and decent seats where you dont feel like you have got piles after sitting for 10 minutes also could do with a big bar/venue for live music dancing like the bamboo bar in pattaya where we could have a decent thai band not the pony music thats played in the hilton
