Ennio Morricone

Post by Spitfire »

OK everyone, I know it's a bit late, but just found out that he had his 80th birthday on the 10th of November, born in 1928.

This is the guy that wrote all the spagetti western(Sergio Leone films) music theme tunes(A fistfull of Dollars etc), along with "The Untouchables", "The Exorcist", "Lolita", "Mission to Mars", "Fateless" and many other films, over 30 major prizes and awards.

Didn't realise he was still knocking around, so I think he deserves a belated "Happy Birthday" as his music is part of most, if not all, of our earlier lives.

My favourite has to be "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly", timeless.

If you want to have a look at more then,

Edit: Screwed-up the link address,

i used to have a more modern phone than the present clunker and used the musical watch tune from Few Dollars More.....

he has written some real classic soundtrack in his time :thumb:
"Science flew men to the moon. Religion flew men into buildings."

"To sin by silence makes cowards of men."

For me, his best work has to be 'The Mission' soundtrack

Great movie (Jeremy Irons, Robert De Niro) all about the Jesuit Monks and the Spanish / Portugese squabbles over Amazonian territory yonks ago
