The body of United States actor David Carradine was brought back to his home country via United Airlines flight UA-895 at 6.50am on Saturday.
The US Embassy in Bangkok received the 72-year-old actor's body at the Chulalongkorn Hospital on Friday.
His naked body, found with his wrists, neck and penis tied, was discovered in the wardrobe of his suite at the Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel by a housekeeper on Thursday.
Forensic scientists assumed that the Hollywood actor may have died from attempting auto-erotic asphyxiation.
The US Embassy however was not satisfied with the police after they revealed the details of Carradine's death to the media. The police had damaged the deceased actor's reputation and they may have violated human rights, the embassy said.

David Carradine RIP
Yes the LOS police almost always seem quick off the mark to pronounce suicide as cause of death. The reports I saw yesterday indicated a change of heart, after David Carradines agent/family pointed out there was no suicide note, and that he was a guy who clearly enjoyed life. Only then apparently did the Thais decide that maybe it wasn't suicide. Maybe it was accidental, but suddenly more investigation was needed and the autopsy report may not be available for another 2 weeks. What is this - autopsy results to order?
It is to be hoped that perhaps a more detailed report might just be possible in the States. Far too many Farang deaths in LOS are put down to suicide, and in most cases there isn't the financial or high profile back up needed for families to dispute the Thai findings.
Maybe in this case the Thai police didn't realise who they were dealing with, but I do hope that the truth comes out.
There should never be any doubt or question over a properly conducted autopsy these days, regardless of the victim, and regardless of the country where it is carried out.
Sadly it may take the tragic death of David Carradine to show the Thai system for what it is.

A sprout is for life - not just for Christmas.
The Thai Police just come across as incompetent idiots however and whenever they get to hit the World headlines. I wonder if this is reported back from their various Embassies? However, in this case, they can't be accused of violating someones Human Rights - that only applies to the living.Nereus wrote: The police had damaged the deceased actor's reputation and they may have violated human rights, the embassy said.

Carradine family upset by Thailand
The family of the late actor David Carradine have launched strong anti-Thailand criticism touched off by the death of the TV and movie star.
They are "profoundly disturbed" by publication of a forensics photo in a Bangkok newspaper, claim that the Thai pathologist is incompetent, want to go around the Thai police with FBI investigators - and threaten to sue any Thai media printing additional photos of Carradine after his death.

Thought: It never ceases to amaze me how little respect for the dead there is in Thailand, they'll plaster a photo of a deceased actor over the front page but will censor out a nipple or cigarette from a movie.

FBI may be allowed to take part in probe into Carradine's death
US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) may be allowed to take part in an official probe into the death of Hollywood star David Carradine as an observer, if it submits a request.
Carradine, 72, was found dead at a Bangkok hotel on June 4.
Under laws, FBI can submit a request to Thailand's Office of Attorney General (OAG).
Sirisak Tiyaphan, the head of OAG Foreign Litigation Department, Monday said his office would usually allow a foreign agency to take part as an observer only.
"It may supply evidence available abroad but it can launch its own probe," he said.

Looks like it might be happening as it seems many are unsatisfied with the Thai police's performance. What they fail to understand, and shows up painfully in an incident like this, is that Thai police proceedure is flawed and sketchy which doesn't cut the mustard with international standards. They just try to sweep it under the carpet like they do with interal police investigation and, in doing so, shows their insensitivity and incompetence.

I saw a story on the TV news today that Carradine was found alone in his room with the inside-the-room only lock locked. It was on a high enough floor that no one could have come and gone except through the door and it was locked from the inside in a way that cannot be unlocked by a key or any other means from the outside... draw your own conclusions.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
