Topiary

Post by Terry »

Seeing Margarets' comment re balcony plants on another thread has reminded me of some outstanding research that I have to do.

There are some marvelous items of topiary in Thailand (Not least of which - the gardens in the Sofitel), and I have always been a fan of this form of garden decoration.

There are many suppliers of the little rabbits, elephants, deer etc in the garden centres around HH - but I'm looking for - yes you've guessed it - FISH! 8)

If anyone has seen a supplier of fish shaped topiary - please let me know.

Alternatively if anyone knows the name of the type of bush that is used and also an artistic individual who can make the wire frames, I would be grateful :thumb:

I agree entirely! Im a bit of an amateur expert......

 :D :D :D

(sorry mate....I couldnt resist)

In England we use "Box"....a type of small leaved dense foliage hedge bush.

My next door nieghbour makes his own shapes out of wire from the hardware shop and grows these mad rabbit bushes.....c'mon T... a fish is a pretty simple shape to make....

At least a topiary fish would be an improvement on the palm tree I caught the last time I was at the fishing lodge!

... and how come we haven't seen a picture of you posted on the fishing lodge thread smiling holding it in your arms like the fish caught there... :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Unfortunately the line wasn't strong enough to up-root it from the bank, so one of the staff had to climb up it to get the hook and bait back.
It was a pity really because I would have liked it for the garden.
