Sorry hogus, but who can ignore a worst management, if you found out of wasting your time and money in an unpleasant atmosphere???? :(

Celtic Bar: Hua Hin

Post by miked »

Speaking as a none drinker, i still find it interesting reading about the bars.
O.K. so you want draught beer, fair prices, good looking girls and why not lots of football.
The answer to me is simple, the Expats Bar. Why not get together a group of expats and regular visitors to Hua Hin and open your own bar. Any profit you make put back into the bar or have a free drinks night say once a month for all the owners.
Only a suggestion, but i,m sure it can be done.[/quote]

Perhaps they need to take some lessons from the girls dancing on the tables in U-Turn Bar a few nights later
I was at the U Turn when this was happening and the boys in brown closed it down. Personly, I found it very tacky and not in keeping with the laid back feel of HH, even Soi Bintibat, or whatever its called. If I want girls, off their faces on drink or worse, dancing on tables, then I can go to Pattaya. After all, HH is a royal town, with genuine tourists, not just dirty ol bastards like me!

Ok so most seem to agree that the celtic is going down hill faster than the -----------.

Maybe the moderators could start a poll to see from the ex pats and regular visitors which is their favorite bar, we could then compare the results with the bar ratings on this site.

Your damm right i am not welsh jamie but i can still remember the whole event when it happend, how old were you at the time????

Also my wife is as welsh as you are :D Oh well we all have our cross to bear .

No star. :thumb:

My tongue was firmly in my cheek Larry! The staff at the bar I was in a bit further up and opposite expressed the same opinion as you. I'm not surprised the bar was closed down, it certainly was unprecedented in my experience of HH.

I think you have about 10 years on me Mike, so as you rightly imply you are old enough to know better but I don't see the relevance of whether I remember the event or not - it's not a contest - just raising the issue (not unreasonable or nasty I hope) of the appropriateness of your original post and admittedly biting at your attempt to disguise yourself as a Welshman (wishful thinking on your part obviously)! :P

Great idea, but may be you can imagine, that the most ex pats or regular tourists aren't here for any work.
It should be the duty of the businessmen in town to take care for an attractive, pleasant and eventful atmosphere, isn’t it ?

Come on moderators how about a poll.

After all , the price of a beer in any bar should not really make a differance to the ratings as most of us dont really care about the odd 5-10 bht if its a nice bar do we?????

How many girls also is irrelivent now as hua hin has more couples staying here now,

Jamie, i think somehow we have met in the u turn but not sure, do you have a brother also married to a Thai girl, Do you know Richard.

I would never want to pretend to be Welsh i was trying to let you know that i know the feelings of the people there, i also remember the event.

On a lighter note the welsh always told me that you now have to pay to enter wales (ie severn crossing) my reply, you also have to pay to enter a zoo. :thumb:

See you on your return for a beer,

Mike, I was wondering when/if you would suss me! I put two and two together after your 'Formerly from' post, although in hindsight I suppose I should have sussed you initially from 'tuktukmike.' I will never make CID. I should have owned up straight away but the baiting was more fun, if a little underhand  - your 'punishment' for the dubious 'humour!' At least you now know my (quite reasonable) views on the sick joke genre - at least on a public forum. To get back on topic, mine's a Guinness at CELTIC BAR!!

Hi Jamie,

Forget Celtic as they only sell it in cans,

Roadhole has draught and also new irish bar opening very soon in poolsuk rd.

Not sure but i think the Dubliner (ship) also sells draught.

Feel free to start your own one.

Hi TTM

Just once in a while........................
Never realised it had been done before, i am too lazy to trawl through all the previous posts.

I think that probably says a lot. You seem to be able to post a new topic - the bottom of that screen allows you to "add a poll".

i make tuk-tuks not computers
 Suggest you stick to the day job then

BUT
:P I have a sneaking suspicion that you must get someone to do it for you! :P
