Angkor Wat - Siem Reap From Hua Hin
Anyone gone to Siem Reap from Hua Hin for a visit? I want to plan a trip and would welcome any advice from someone who has gone there. What is the best way to get there? Any good places to stay? How many days should I stay there?

Went there last year by bus from Bkk to Aranyaphratet, where we stayed overnight,so we took a tuktuk early in the morning to the check point, did our visa before over internet and got a taxi on the cambodian side to siem reap.as the road is not ready yet the ride took about 3,5 hours with an avarage of 40 kmh. for the return we prefered to take a flight directly from sr to bkk.we stayed there 3 nights wich you definitely need.plenty of tuktuks there also who will take you wherever you want.we keeped the same tuktuk for the three days.and payed 15 dollar per day.For the angkor wat you need minimum a hole day, another one for the tonle sap lake and eventually the museums.there are many vedry nice hotels around wich are all new and cheaper than thailand.just check a few websites.you can pay with american dollar everywhere.the ride from the border to siem reap cost us 30 dollar.
have a nice trip

i might be a bit late but i traveled overland 2 ys ago from BKK, a great adventure but certainly not a comfortable adventure, if being comfy and getting there quickly then fly directly into Seim Reep if you got the time then go overland though beware its a wasteland once you cross the border...Poi Pet thats not spell correctly looked like Baghdad after a bombing raid to me pt holes full of water and the bus station was flooded, thanks to my traveling companion i ended up paying twice the going rate to hire a car out of that place...i couldnt get out of there fast enough but i didnt care i just wanted out, as an other forum member said the road is bad but it was cool...an adventure.
AS for length of stay after several ruins...they all looked the same to me, glad to have seen Angor Wat it was amazing maybe 2 days is enough of the sites but thats up to you...i did looked up the web and choosed what i wanted to see before i got there.
Full range of hotels...but the driver had every intention of taking me to where he could get a cut on my booking...again i had several hotels penciled in and by chance spotted one as we drove past it much to his annoyance though he hung around while we booked then as we walked off he try ed to solicit a payment for bring us to there door.
