Great shots Buksi! Must be nice to have a good camera and a press pass!
Here's a shot (with an old pocket camera) looking down the first hole from the grandstands:

My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

Thanks, the press pass helped as you can actually follow the players onto the fairways and are not herded behind the line with 500 umbrella wielding Asians.
I need a new lens though, that Sigma 300 is getting on a bit! Still it means you can take shots from a distance without annoying the players - unlike a number of Asians wielding beepy smoke-box sized cameras or trying to take shots using noisy mobile phones on the tee.
The Thongchai shot is one of my faves, it was quite fortunate (for me) that he hit a couple of bad shots to the right, exactly where I was standing.
Here is another Jaidee leap of faith trying to see the 13th green. His recovery shots were awesome!

I watched a few players come through the (par 4) 17th and he (Thongchai) was the only one I saw reach the green with his drive. It didn't actually end up on the green but just barely off the left side about mid way from the front edge of the green to the hole.

I have a condo up at black mountain and watched quite a bit of the action. All in all it was an amazing event and I would encourage everyone to support it next year if it comes again to BM as i hope it will. To be able to see the 3 most exciting young golfers in the world (manassero, ishikawa and noh) was just brilliant. Of the 3, my money is on noh to really make it big this year. He is quite extraordinarily good for someone of his age (19). Tiger won his first major at the age of 21; maybe, just maybe Noh can do the same. In 2010, he made the cut in two majors, won the asian tour order of merit and won a co-sanctioned european/asian tour event. For any photographers thinking of going next year my advice would be to get up there for the pro-am and practice day. All the stars were out and about with very few supporters and no ropes.

Was there anyone from the Government there?
I heard a murmur that certain people are in town that are causing all the bars to close at twelve and I wondered if it was related.

Not sure about the government, but since the Tourist Authority were a key sponsor perhaps the Tourism Minister came along. A handful of policemen seemed to be around but not in significant numbers. The golfers (who stayed at the Sofitel and Hilton) were given the full VVIP treatment including a police escort to clear the road on the drive to/from Bangkok.
