Hi Lob
What about one of those electric front wheel hubs for standard bike dont know if powerfull enough but sure you could get hub adapted for your front wheel.Just a thought I have built loads of Vw trikes so reverse no problem as for bike trikes only seen Harley and Goldwing reverse kits.Must say what nice job your trike is very impressed.

Have you thought of simply have a small Rubber wheel directly on the shaft of the electric motor, and us a simple latch (even something like a 'DeStaco' Clamp) to engage the motor/wheel assembly directly onto 1 of the rear tyres?

Very simple and basic, but could possibly do the job.
Yes i have thought about that and other simple system. But it's not easy to work together with thai worker and make them understand what i want. The communication is the biggest problem in a project like this :? :cuss:
My plan is also to keep is as simple as possible.

I have already learn from this project. So if i going to build more of this kind of motorbikes, I will buy a new motor with automatic gear and reverse gear (Motor from a ATV motorbike) and then build the frame 100% from scratch.

Those 3 wheeler bikes with wheelchair access have been around in the UK for a few years now. Many of them tour the Bike Nights here in the UK. I haven't seen them in action in reverse gear but I'm sure they do have that facility, unlike regular mobility scooters which don't have reverse gear at all.
As a complete numpty on the technicalites - maybe you need to start from the basis of a proper 3 wheel bike, (the Billy Connelly variety) which is the basis of the UK adapted bikes, rather than a 2 wheel adapted bike?
But there should be plenty of info and data on the web somewhere. Try searching 'trikes' for starters. I'm sure the many people who are riding the adapted trikes won't be keeping info to themselves, and would be only to pleased to share.
There are also websites and forums for people with disabilities which might provide leads.

Nice piece of engineering, their is a guy in a wheel chair using this chariot type moped thing around town its blue maybe look out for him.

You could also go and see the guys at Quadmaster as some quads have reverse gears they maybe could give you some ideas.

Yes, I was driving behind him on Petchkasem this morning until a Tuk Tuk virtually pushed him out of the way near the electricity U Turn. Couldn't have done him any harm though, because I saw him near the Dutchman a little while later.

Quite a nifty machine.
