New Mexican Restaurant

Post by Pagey »

I didn't get full details as I was on my motorcycle but got a glimpse of a sign outside a restaurant saying 'Grand Opening', Mexican Restaurant.
Name Jalapeno Grill, off Soi 94 on the 'canal road' past Rock Zone but before BKP.

I'm sure someone going that way can confirm opening date.

Man in pub circa 1987.

Well the Aztec Gods are smiling on you JB.

Another Mexican is opening in the middle of Soi 94 in place of the old Bang Bar which has relocated to bigger premises a bit further up the Soi.

I believe they have been operating recently in the old weekend Chinese takeaway unit on the railway/canal road off Soi 94 where most places were demolished due to the railway construction.

Edit : The Mexican Jalapeno Grill opening tomorrow is actually only a few doors down from BKP.

Not sure where to post this Mods can move if necessary.....

Nits Cafe on Soi 102(opposite Paris bakery)

Will be for sale as a business either now or in high season

It's a 3 storey building with a fully fitted restaurant/bar on the ground floor. All fixtures and fittings can be included

On the 2 upper floors there are 3 bedrooms

She pays 17,000 baht per month and another 3 years to run on the lease.

Reason for the sale is her Son (and gf) who lives there is moving away so she just doesn't need the property any longer

She will then continue to operate her food selling business(pies, lasagne etc) from her house in Thap Tai

A real blow for me as its the best English brekkie in Hua Hin in my book

So is she still open at the moment? I need to re-stock my freezer when I get home.

Walked into Market Village this evening, and there was a huge void. Burgers & Beer has gone. That has been part of MV ever since we lived here.

Times must be getting hard. On saying that, I was told they are opening a new place on a plot of land in 94, on that road that runs down to Le Pub, but before there and on the other side of the road. Not sure if an empty plot or renovating a closed building.

There's a story. Not hard times but it has made zero money since COVID, it has stayed open for years now hoping for more custom, the owner decided to close it then had a change of heart and was going to see the next high season through, but the mall were keen to open that area up (they want a 'void' they reckon), so they would not let him row back the agreed closure. Very sad. It's been my watering lunchtime hole for seven years, there's no-where else like it that I know of, comfy swivel chairs, aircon and people watching with good food. The ex-owner is in a large development where you say, knowing the details I think it will be very good, and also has other restaurants in HH which are flourishing.

This morning I was wandering around Hin Lek Fai area on the bike and I see that Daddy Deli have opened a big new place directly opposite the entrance road to Black Mountain golf.
