Post by Guess »

I have just heard some very worrying local news.

The report on TV was that there has been a bomb exposion at Rockestra tonight.

Can anybody expand?

Rockestra caught fire this afternoon cause unknown as yet no sound of a bomb was heard as far as I know unless it was a quiet one. The hotel association of Hua Hin would like to thank Guess for his one man anti tourism campaign.

Hello

During my last holidays I went to Rockestra and it was closed.
Was it closed forever ?

Just drove past it ... its a smouldering shell of a building now.

Wish the same would happen to the Hilton.

Saw a picture of it in the newspaper today.
Completly burned out. One man was arrested by the police.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Although it's not somewhere I frequent, I hope they had insurance (and it pays out!) and are able to resume business. I also hope, more importantly that no one was injured.

The bomb bit was probably my very poor understanding of Thai and my wife being half asleep at the tme that the news item was broadcast and unable to correctly translate..

The second sentence needs some clarification from the author.

Hear hear.

I have enjoyed many an evening their when I had time on my hands and lived just across the road.

The TV station reported that all staff fled the building so hopefully that is correct.

I never had a chance to go to this place. Doesn't look like I will now :(

Pardon my ignorance, but I've also heard of Rockestra II. Is it the same place, or do they have 2 venues?

The old Rockestra used to be at the back of the temple and it is a restaurant now.

I heard that the temple complained about the noise from the live music and so had to find a new venue, hence Rockestra 2.

Used to go many times and had many a good night there, who can forget sexy cindy the lead singer.

Really hope ther rebuild this place.

Mike is right about that. The Rockestra used be situated somwhere around the the temple before my evil self set foot here in Hua Hin.

For the last three years it has been located in Tawan 5, on the road to Pala U.

It was burnt down a couple of weeks ago and has recentlly been reported in the local Thai press.

A man has been arrested.

I echo the sentiments of Mike and hope that the funds are provided to rebuild.

I used to go to the old venue near the temple regularly and managed to chat up sexy Cindy once and bought her a drink.
Thought I was God's gift to women for a month afterwards.
She never even acknowledged my presence after that. Dream on

Hey Louamart

This girl was what you would call High Class.

I was once told what the cost would be and was way over my budget.

Of course i was only curious.

But as you say we can dream.

Mike.
