The cheapest fare is 990 Baht. I was too late for the cheapest fare, and paid around 1,690 Baht.

Kan Air grounded on eight domestic routes
http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/transpo ... tic-routes
A bit confusing, but I read it as the Hua Hin flights are not affected. But the DCA is correct, and with the current Red Flag from ICAO you will need to keep checking.

Re: Kan Air starting new route between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai
There is no flight from Hua Hin to U-Tapao (Pattaya). All the flights to/from U-Tapao have been suspended because Kan Air did not have the correct licence to operate.
A shame because they were, apparently, very good with excellent service and a good meal on the plane included in the cost.
Rumour has it that Air Asia are going to start useing U-Tapao as a hub at the end of this year/early next year.

I'll be using the service soon, so took a trip down to the airport to be sure. There is free parking directly outside of the terminal, which can be used for an indefinite period. They won't guarantee the security of your vehicle, but it is a closed compound with a security guard on duty 24/7.buksida wrote:Thinking of taking the trip - anyone know what Hua Hin airport charge for parking per day?

Kan Airlines : Hua Hin - Chiang Mai
Hi,
Anyone already tried Kan Airlines ?
I sent them an email but never received any answer.
My first question was : they have 3 kinds of aircraft and I wanted to know which one is used for the HH - CM journey ?
http://www.kanairlines.com/web/our-fleet.php?lang=en
Second question was : do they often cancel flights ? In that case, I will do Chiang Mai-Bangkok with another company then risk my life once again in the minivan from Victory Monument.
Thanks for your help,
Denis

The scheduled HHQ-CNX route is an ATR-72 unless you want to go chartered in a Beechcraft jet (but that will cost a little more).
Re: Kan Air starting new route between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai
Dennis, I did the flight a couple of weeks ago, and it was probably the best (cattle class) service I've ever used.
I am not aware of cancellations, and it is a fairly well supported service.
I booked initially online, but something went wrong with payment. I tried to resolve the problem by e-mail - they did respond, but 2 weeks later. I phoned them, and they were very helpful, and spoke excellent English.
On the day I flew, I was watching football in Pranburi at 17:55, and was sat with a friend in Chiang Mai 3.5 hours later - a great service.

Hope that route will not be cancelled in the future.
The company doesn't seem very reliable (too many problems with the website).

Kan Air agrees to lease two aircraft
http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/transpo ... o-aircraft
Kan Air plans to resume flights on several routes suspended last year and introduce new services with the leasing of two aircraft.
The Thai commuter airline has reached an agreement, in the form of a letter of intent, to lease two ATR 72-600 turboprops from a European aircraft lessor that will address its capacity constraints.
Six routes are to be launched this year as the two aircraft are phased into Kan Air's fleet, with the first aircraft due around April and the second a few months later, said Somphong Sooksanguan, president...
Four of the six routes will be relaunched services from the navy-operated U-tapao airport in Rayong, while the other two are from Bangkok's Don Mueang airport.
U-tapao flights will be to Udon Thani, Hat Yai, Krabi and Phuket. While Phuket will be served with one daily flight, the other services will be every other day.
Those services are expected to start in June or July after the delivery of the second ATR 72-600, Mr Somphong told the Bangkok Post.
At Don Mueang, the resumption of a service to Mae Sot and the introduction of a service to Phrae, both with one flight a day, will begin in April.
Those six routes will strengthen Kan Air's network, which has diminished to eight routes out of its Chiang Mai base.
Destinations served from Chiang Mai are Mae Hong Son, Pai, Nan, Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, Phitsanulok, Hua Hin and U-tapao. Kan Air hopes the acquisition of the new ATR 72-600 models will enable it to deal with grounding problems.
The leases for the new aircraft are for eight years, indicating they will serve as long-term workhorses for the airline in developing secondary routes not frequented by other carriers.
Kan Air has also been looking to introduce single-aisle jets into its fleet to support its growth strategy.

I did not find any flight on the Kanair website. I wrote an Email to Kanair, but got no response. Anyone knows more about it?
Re: Kan Air starting new route between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai
The last time I booked (3 months ago), I had to go to their desk at Hua Hin Airport. Very helpful, very fast, able to pay with cash, no online booking fee - much better than their web site.
Let us know how you get on please.

Re: Kan Air starting new route between Hua Hin and Chiang Mai
I planned to fly to CM this months however I have emailed Kan air and it bounces, I phoned and asked about the HH/CM flight and the woman could not even tell me if there was a flight. Flights show on their flight schedule for HH>CM yet when trying to book there are no flights. If this is how an airline operates I would not trust to fly with them.
