Not sure, but you can go to shooting range with the police.
I believe they've got all sorts of weapons there.
Others may enlighten you as I'm bad enough with a drink in my hand, let alone a gun. :thumb:

We do not shoot animals of any kind in Thailand whatever their species.

There is a shooting range about 3KM norht of Jua Jin Central and about 3KM inland. It is well signposted.

As for being able to shoot ploiceman as Lomu states, I am not sure.

I think that clay pigeon shooting is a bizzare sport taken up only by Taboo drinking Englishmen.

I think ralphsandbag was talking about clay shooting, not live animals. There is a shooting range; go past Bor Fai temple (north of the centre) and follow the signs.

What is the score on weapons ownership in Thailand, if there was enough interest in shooting, perhaps someone could start up their own shooting club.
But if the laws are as strict as the U.K. then perhaps, you would have trouble setting up a shooting club.

I saw a thread about this on another forum and from what I can remember the conclusion was that only Thai nationals are allowed to own a gun. This is designed to make it easier for Thai burglers to rob farang occupied homes and shoot you if you try and resist without the risk of being shot themselves. The obvious solution is to get yourself a Thai gf and invite her and her gun to live with you so you can then own a gun by proxy. Make sure you don't annoy her too much though.

Very sorry for my mistake but I thought that the clay pigeon was a species of the aforementioned bird that is an endangerd species that made its nests in clay quarries and shrared its environment with squirells.

I could, like aleays, may be completeley wrong abouit this an maybe they are not in any way endangerd.

As for ralphshand bag, the only gun that my wife can fit in to her handbag is a 81FS CheetahBerteta. THis is ideally suited to a lady. It can fire two shots imeidately and then has to fire one by one. The first two shots should be enough if the lady keeps her cool.

You will nveer hit a pigeoon, Clay or otherwise or any other flying cretures in fact the mosy duitable target is a mammal eho is asleep.

Guess,
Some of your late nighters are great, you can tell how many bottles youve got rid of by the distance from the desired key you actually hit!

Similar to the USA where the Vice President only shoots people in the face, friends at that! I just read that Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and VP Cheney will be out in the bush again this weekend trying their luck. Pete

Sorry, Stevie W. can't go. He's been our late night proofreader since 22 July 2005.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

Post by Ralphsandbag »

Hi, thanks for the replies. Looks like this needs a lot more investigating. Starting a clay club could be worth looking at if the Thai Laws will allow such an adventure...
There would be strict rules about shooting endangered species, clays are not very tasty.............
Keep your heads down
