Apart from vinegar, pure aloe vera also works well - the stung person's own urine is also said to work, but I've never seen it put to the test.
Re: Start of the Jellyfish Season
12 years ago I was stung on my knee, 100 meters off the beach at Soi 75/1 while kitesurfing. I had observed the more skilled kite surfers going out without protective clothing so I declined to purchase jellyfish pants at the KBA kite shop. I hadn’t considered that the skilled liters spend very little time in the water compared to a novice like me. I saved 800 baht, but even though I was treated with vinegar and fresh aloe for over an hour, within 5 minutes of being stung, I spent one of the most memorable and painful nights of my life and had deep chemical burns on my knee by morning. The next day I bought the jelly fish pants and have worn them every session, every year since then and have not been stung again. I think I’m on my 5th or 6th pair of jellyfish pants now. Plus I wear long sleeve Lycra rash guard shirts, also available at the KBA kite school. I also walk my dogs on the beach frequently, I’m convinced that the larger, milky colored jellyfish we see washed up on the beach are a fairly harmless species, but I stay far away from the smaller, reddish or purplish one. I very rarely see the reddish or purplish ones when out on the water, but they are there.

These deadly little buggers are found in Thailand, but some may deny it.
Call to SHUT DOWN holiday hotspot after fourth Aussie child airlifted to hospital
A Queensland marine specialist is calling for a popular holiday hotspot to be closed immediately after four children were airlifted to hospital over two days following suspected stings from deadly irukandji jellyfish.

Fatal and Nonfatal Severe Jellyfish Stings in Thai Waters
https://academic.oup.com/jtm/article/17 ... ogin=false
Two kinds of potentially deadly jellyfish are confirmed in Thai waters: chirodropid box jellyfish and Irukandji box jellyfish (L. Gershwin, unpublished data). Hundreds of other species of jellyfish are also present but are not considered as life threatening.
Chirodropids are large box‐shaped jellyfish (ie, “box jellyfish”) with multiple tentacles arising from each of the four lower corners of the bell.
Irukandji are easily distinguished from chirodropids, as their box‐shaped body has just a single tentacle at each lower corner.

Where at that time folks, anything seen yet?
Perhaps with global warming they've been and gone, or won't arrive in numbers anymore?
Edit: Here on the eastern front (south facing beaches) not a one to be seen, and they were always here by Christmas in past years.
