OK so no one rates the P.A.D.I dive master qualification as a matter of fact i don't either - another Piece of American shit if you ask me!
The proof of the pudding is where you dive and all my dives, bar about 300 have been done in British waters which is hard diving. Black as shit, cold and with strong currents. Yea yea you big boys - I was a SAS diver and dived 1 million dives in the Barents straits with a shortie on...yawn.
Diving is about having fun wherever. If you enjoy the sport then that is fine but bring 'padi is shit my one is better' into it is childish. Its all good fun and enjoyable.

Bit of a problem here Randy as the boys in Hereford do not do diving,SBS in Poole Dorset have that special formation responsibility or were you in that as well

Agree with you here Nikki. Not fun at all when you can't see a thing without wearing glasses.
Try this link and see if it makes you any wiser.

I have a mask with prescription lenses, cost around 3,000 baht. Obviously you can't buy dive gear in Hua Hin so I'd recommend Diver's Emporium on Koh Tao or Dive Supply in Bangkok.

Chumphon diving sounds like the best local after reading the thread. Koh Tao sounds OK to get wet, but fairly basic?

How far to get to Chumphon? And would anyone know the rates?

Thanks!

Chumphon is three hours drive south, did a trip report here last time I went:

http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/vi ... php?t=3421

Diving is pretty good, far more marine life than Tao though viz does vary, should cost around 1,800 baht for two dives (plus park fee).

Would not advise going with Cabana, try Easy Divers in the town itself.

Let me know if you decide to go and need a buddy, may join you!

Strange about that post is that:

The Bering sea is nowher near the British Isles.
The SAS do not have divers. They are highly trained land base operatives. As said in the post above the SBS do all the wet and cold stuff.
To make one million dives you would need to make one hundred every day from the age of 19 to 45.

Probably won't get back until next year, but the wife doesn't dive, so will definately check with you.

Think Guess and I worked that out from day one but just keeping up the banter, was amazed by Guess's poor geography though,Bering Straight is between Russia and Alaska and freezes over in winter,Barents sea is north of the Kola peninsular but much closer to UK but both are definite places for instant hypothermia

Diving People

Post by ITKMAN »

There is an event in Bangkok next spring
Asia Diving Expo...one might have a look at that...BTW, I've noticed that there is some showing of rank and claiming of expertise......Odd, as Scuba is a recreation and not a competative sport!

bhttp://www.asiadiveexpo.com
more info on the show...Out at the new conventin center near to SwuannaBoom

http://www.asiadiveexpo.com/ADEX07_factsheet.htm
See you at the show!
BTW, lthe day prior to the ADEX show there will be a meeting of PADI Course Directors for their Update program. Now please note there is no showing of rank by noting this program as it is not open to the public and only opne to Course Directors. I will be conducted by PADI Asia Pacific, which is located in Aus. Now, how did I know about that ?
Hawaii/LOS..wicked style, MON!

Good info, will try and get to this one since I missed it this year.

Think I'll give the PADI meet a swerve though - "Put Another Dollar In".
