This is what we used for e-learning on the www.dlt-elearning.com website
Third line in English for foreigners, if you've never done it you'll need to register
Thank you so much - it was a bit painful going through it, but I passed!!Image

You might still have to do colour and perception tests on the day you go, but that shouldn’t be too arduous 🤞

Had driving licenses here since 2005. Have to do a renewal. Will I also have to do the theory test mentioned above ?

Anyone any recommendations for a quick place for the medical certificate? ( I stagger up and down hills for fun so no physical problems).

Apart from the above is it :-

Certificate of residence from immigration.
Copies of various stamps in the passport plus original
Copy of old driving license plus original
Lease agreement or yellow book

Thanks

Since Covid, when my non-imm. retirement visa expired I have been coming to Thailand two or three times a year using 60 day tourist visas.

My driving licence expires in Feb 2024 and I will need to renew. Will I be able to do this on a tourist visa?
(to prove residence I have a yellow book in my name for the condo)
..... and if not, is there a way round this. e.g. friendly agent, transport office?

Any advice most welcome.

Thanks.

What the above is talking about is not the 'Theory test' it's just a replacement for the video session at the DLT. If you watch the video online, then you copy the QR code. Show that when you go to renew and it excuses you from watching the senseless video.
Watching it online is not a test. The video is in 2 or 3 parts with a couple of simple questions at the end of each segment. You don't even have to watch it, the answers to the couple of questions is given in the summary immediately before.
The 'Theory Test' is required for your first application for a licence and you're given a random 50 multiple choice questions which you need to get 45 out of 50 correct.

To recap: for a renewal, if you don't watch the video online then you have to sit through it at the DLT.

Just to add to what HHTel has said, the video is in 4 sections and whilst you don’t have to pay too much attention to the detail as the (4 I think) questions are fairly simple and the answers given, you do have to click a box at the end of every section and/or answer the questions, so you can’t just leave it to play through without paying some attention.

All in though, it’s pretty meaningless to the average competent driver!!

What all is needed for renewal of a 5 year license? I'm posting instead of searching old posts since things change so rapidly around here.
Thanks!!
