International money transfers FROM Thailand

I need to wire some money from Thailand to my bank in the U.S

Transferwise is out for transfers out of Thailand.

I assume I can do it from my Kasikorn bank using swift but I have read there are restrictions like not by farang unless it is with work permit. Limit on amount?

Does anyone have direct experience doing it? What are the requirements?

Anyone have experience with Deemoney?

K-bank wanted documents to prove what the money was for last time I tried it.

BAY is much better, you can send 100k a time via the online banking website once you have setup recipient accounts.

Cryptocurrency is by far the easiest, quickest and cheapest for me anyway.

In past sometimes I sent money to my bank account in Germany. No problems! My account here is in Bangkok Bank. I needed my passport only.

US citizen can not buy bitcoin in Thailand.
Paypal may work for sending money to Thailand. NOT from Thailand
Non Thais can't wire money out of Thailand unless they can prove it came from international originally. Like buying a condo.
So far no way to do it for me. Still trying to find a way. Maybe using a Thai intermediary. Working on that but after all the dead ends so far I'm not optimistic.
With the new visa rules and Thai capital controls I'm sure glad I didn't buy a house here.

I've transferred money to the UK on occasion (the most being 500,000) using Bangkok Bank with no problem. I've always had to state a reason which I've used 'Education expenses'. Haven't done it for a while but always worked.

There is no problem sending money out with Kasikorn, Bangkok Bank or Krungsri. I recently sent 1.5m Baht to Australia. Told them I needed to transfer money, gave my passport and bank book to the teller who filled in a form then asked me why I was sending money, the form had multiple boxes to select from, I asked which is best the teller said school funds and accommodation.

Saying you have to prove that you brought the money in is just not fact, I have been sending money out with no problem for quite a while. The only issue is you are restricted to using a Thai bank and their exchange rate and fees.

No problem and done in minutes.

That post about Dee Money is interesting, once registered which is not so simple, you can send out up to 800k per day if sending from a branch, however there are just 4 branches and all in BKK.

Fee is only 150 Baht with the mobile app.

Has anyone used this system?

I was at Kasikorn today. They counted the bhat that had been deposited from out of the country over the last three months and told me that was the limit I could transfer out. My Thai wife could transfer more if she would give a reason.
So I guess some people can transfer as much as they want and others can't. I am curious why.

I don't know if kasikorn has some internal regulation that makes transferring money overseas difficult, but a few months ago I was in the kasikorn branch in Market Village and there was a foreigner talking to one of the tellers. He wanted to send 2 million baht from his account to his wife in The Philippines. The teller kept on saying that it was too difficult. Not impossible, just too difficult. Too many forms and having to get authorisation. The customer was at a loss. What should be do? In the end the teller told him it would be easier to withdraw the money from his account and go to one of the other banks where doing the transfer would be much easier. At this point I finished my business there and left without seeing whether the customer did as advised, but it did seem rather strange.

I have found that I get better and more knowledgeable service at the Blueport branch. But I usually see a guy at one of the desks. Not a teller. Today he was very helpful explaining the transfer rules to me.
