Hua Hin live music scene

Post by Phil D »

We are returning for our annual stay in Hua Hin Jun, July & Aug. In earlier years we found music that we liked with the lady singers at the plaza on Poonsuk and the band at Baan Nokachan near the Hyatt. Last year both had moved on. Can anyone advise whether they are now at new venues in Hua Hin or alternatively where we might find live music of that vintage.

Mod edit: changed title to include all live music

We have now arrived in HH and by chance came across the band from Baan Nokachan playing a little further down the road at Rom Mai restaurant. Still looking to follow up on the lady singers from Poonsuk plaza.

While I haven't found the two lady singers last night I found a fantastic duo playing at Take 5 in Takiab. I believe they are called Two Pair and play there every Tuesday. The lady singer was seriously good and well supported by her male offsider.

Went to Father Ted's last night to watch the 'Bangkok Beatles'. What a great band, these guys sounded superb and knew pretty much every song from the Fab Four.

I've tweaked the title of this thread so we can use it to post updates on Hua Hin's live music scene.

I know Cheers Bar often has bands on and Crazy Bull play in Fame on a Friday, but what/where/when can we catch more live music in town?

Probably the best live rock band I have ever heard. Stone Head Band play at El Toro Loco Soi 102 every day of the week.

Calypso, Woodstock, Rock Zone, all Soi 94 area.

Ped Bluesmen worth a watch, also The Answer and Young Spirit at Rock Zone, two bands with loads of energy.

If allowed to post this check Sandy Beach on FB, he posts every day what bands are on in the area including Bintabaht area.

Thanks for the updates, the idea is to post them here - not all of us use Farcebook! :thumb:

They regularly change bands and venues, SB does the leg work, eg yesterday he posted over 20 venues and bands for last night. You asked for the info, I've told you the best and easiest place to find it. :thumb:

I asked for info in this thread, hence the title change and reactivation of it. There are many on here including myself that don't do FB so need alternative sources of information which is what this forum is there to provide. :thumb:

You don't need FB to see the site. Just open it in any browser. The SB site posts publicly so you don't need a FB account to see their updates!

Noted, but not really the point. It would have been nice to have a dedicated thread on HHF for Hua Hin's live music scene ... but nevermind, I give up.

Bangkok regularly gets visited by International acts, and - dont laugh - Englebert Hunperdink played a concert here in HH a couple of years back.

But do international acts ever visit HH, apart from to play the jazz festivals?

I remember my son going to see touring band a few years back who were playing at an obscure Soi 51 venue. It was just an overnight, passing through stop though. Outside of that, and Englebert, I don't remember any international acts.

For Thai acts though, the town apparently has a few venues for big acts, who do visit quite frequently.
