Thailand eVisa website problem

Post by derek60 »

I am trying to apply for a Visa online and I notice that Hua Hin doesn't appear on the drop down list of cities under 'Place of Stay in Thailand'. In fact the list leaps from C to K. Has anybody else come across this and how did you proceed?

Maybe Prachuap Khiri Khan is the 'city'?

Yes, Use Prachuap Khiri Khan.
If this is the system for London Embassy it is a very slow and tedious system

Typically Thai government - that website is ridiculously complicated and can take hours to get right if it decides to accept your data.

Wow! Lots of new questions. Proof of accommodation in Thailand, Travel Booking confirmation, Financial evidence. All for a tourist visa?

Interesting for an 'e' application. What constitutes acceptable proof/evidence?

Proof of Accommodation - it says "eg Accommodation bookings, invitation letter from friends/family"

Financial evidence - "eg bank statements, proof of earnings, sponsorship letter"

"scan and attach"

I keep getting error 404, access is invalid please try again. Is it because I am in Thailand (currently on a visa exemption entry). Can I apply for a non imm O visa while here? I know I can extend for 30 days but if it is possible would try to get a non imm O from Hua Hin immigration office. Had many before, just got delayed a couple of days too many when returning.

Edit: Was finally able to create an account after using a link rather than typing in the address. Now waiting for the confirmation e-mail.

Re UK / London e-visa website. If you do manage to navigate to the end of this tedious system you are asked to either make an appointment date to visit in person or to post documents/passport to London Embassy. If everything, including payment eventually works you get a confirmation and bar code - it then tells you to print everything out and bring it with you. I was at London Embassy last month and anyone without the bar code/confirmation was rejected.

it's not actually an e-visa at all

No, the website is only for applying from your home country. If here already you need to get an extension.

As said above, its not really an e-visa as after battling with the arduous site for hours it tells you to print everything out anyway and snail mail it.
