This is a long story that developed about a week ago. The significance of this post is not primarily about the crime, which can be further read about in both The Nation and Bangkok Post, but to emphasize the part I have noted in bold print below. Here we have two government organizations who apparently don't trust each other. It appears the RTP thinks perhaps the RCD has been influenced, or some considerations given to say she is pregnant.
It's not strange that I think this way, it's strange that some don't.

Narat Svetanan, director-general of the Correction department, said today (November 15) that Wantanee Tippaveth or Mae Manee, who allegedly scammed hundreds of people through a Ponzi scheme, is two-month pregnant.
Having been tested positive twice in prison, she refused a police request for another test at a hospital in the area.“This is not the first time we have a pregnant inmate” Narat said, adding that prison staff will take good care of her.
The number of victims in the Ponzi scheme has now reached 4,791 after DSI allowed them to file complaints online while the total amount of damages may hit Bt1.6 billion.
