Best 3 bars in 94?
(usual factors. Music, atmosphere, pool, drinks, service, girls)

Re: Bars Soi 94
The Boom bar. Steve & Boom are great hosts. I loved it during my last visit in February 2020. Plenty of Europeans find their way to it. Will be back as soon as the quarantine nonsense is over. No girls or food, but it’s a sports bar usually showing rugby, cricket or football.

Le Pub - big spacious bar with lots of big TVS and indoor/outdoor seating, no girls, but great staff and a good place to get warmed up. Big frozen glasses of draft Leo 90 Baht, served with nuts.

Yes, I've never been, but I've been hearing a lot of good reports about Le Pub. Never heard anybody say anything bad about it, although I'm sure somebody here will change that

Agreed, it's a great place to watch the sports on offer.

Is this the future of Hua Hin's bar scene (also shows the demise of Binthablock)? Squeezed into an area half the size of a football pitch.

Its very Samui style but I still think they're missing something ... now what was it ... oh yes, customers. This hasn't been designed for hi-so Bangkokians or the Chinese mall hordes.

Yes, very strange when Binthabat is sinking fast, 21 new bars were rented out in just 3 days. One wonders what market research these guys do. Even if there is a market, to open up with 20 rival bars selling exactly the same beer, all within 20 yards of you? TIT.

Re: Bars Soi 94
I think it's all to do with money and critical mass. Bars in town AFAIK were paying 40-70k a month. On soi 94 in the new place I have heard it is only 15k so many bar owners in town have moved there. Lower overheads and maintenance as well. Bintabaht area is dead but 94 is still mainly open and indeed new bars and restaurants are opening.
One problem that doesn't seem to have been addressed is parking. If all these places get vaguely busy that will be tricky.
12-15 years ago I remember the plan was to close bintabaht area down and move all bars to soi 94. That was when there was nothing between phetchkasem road and the top of 94. Then it got built up very quickly and the plan was dropped. Looks like this could now be happening slowly....
I don't see bintabaht recovering unless lease prices are dropped, beer prices are dropped etc. The tourists who will come in the future will mainly not be the same as in the past.
How was the opening night last night in 94 ? Any good ?

Re: Bars Soi 94
The first 3 months on 94 is reported as 9K. However, Binthablock wasn't always crazy rent. TIT and success breeds greedy landlords.
Binthablock has survived a long time without adequate parking.
The only opening I am aware of last night was Rock Zone. I've seen photos, and it looks OK. However, be sure balloon chasers were out in force.

Re: Binthabat/karaoke Areas
Having sampled some of Hua Hin's nightlife over the weekend I have to say the 'Samui style' bar complex on 94 will be the death of Bintabaht. It was absolutely rammed - walking through it reminded me of being in Pattaya 15 years ago (without the gogo dancing). Every bar was full, they have a mini nightclub/dancing area that was so busy you couldn't get into it, 90% were farangs I'd say - definitely not a Thai place. I had no idea the expat population of HH was that big as I doubt many of them were two-week tourists. Drink prices were on the high side - but you'd expect that from these types of bars.
Also spent some time in Le Pub on the soi between 94 and 88 - this was more my type of place, quieter, more space, classier, good service, and very well priced drinks. There were at least three live bands within a few hundred meters on Saturday night - but most farangs had gravitated to the bar complex.
There is no need to cross the railway tracks anymore in Hua Hin for nightlife and restaurants. Game over for the center of town, where 80% of places were shuttered up anyway.
