I’m not a biker but your report was so interesting that I would have loved to have done that trip. Your writing skills brought it alive and loved the photos to go with the text. Well done.

The way I see it (and it is only my outlook), life is short and most of us spend most of it chasing shit we can't afford and getting into debt to fund our over-extended expectations and the demands of modern society. I took the chance and this "bucket list" trip while I could because I don't want to get to the end of the road thinking ... "feck, I wish I'd have done that ... "

As we're finding out now ... life is way too short, you only have one shot at it, and it is a huge gamble, most of the time you have no idea what you're doing or why. But ... enjoy today, the moment, because tomorrow is still a 'maybe' ...

I hope my photography and words will inspire others to travel, and that literally is the only reason I report, record and share everything. Travel is food for the soul, but if you're on a bike its a sirloin at every corner!

Mate - has been superb as have previous reports. I am lucky enough to see the world through work, but unfortunately have missed out on a few trips due to the same... work!

One that my father did (4 wheels rather than 2) many, many moons ago was Cape Town to J'bourg - a little too dangerous these days I feel, but a trip my father reminisced about until his dying day.. I'd love to try this one.

Funny you should mention that, but it was one idea we had for a next trip, but in reverse. BKK to Addis flights were only 14k (THB) return before the world collapsed. Just getting a bike in AA and going as far south as you could before it broke or ...
