I’ve seen this bottle in Villa Market on my past few visits and finally pulled the trigger on it tonight. Tried it on a homemade pork burger with grilled onions and a fried egg on top. Little resemblance to anything mayo-y. It is thin and a little too sweet. It does have nice heat and a good garlicky aftertaste. I will stick to using it with egg dishes and maybe ramens, but little else. If I remember correctly, it was about ฿60.

Kraft Heinz to invest in the UK to make tomato ketchup

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-57312162

Kraft Heinz says it will invest $199m (£140m) in a UK food manufacturing facility over the next four years.

The plans for the plant in north west England would see British favourites - ketchup, mayonnaise and salad cream - made in the country once again.

It would be the firm's biggest expansion of a manufacturing site outside the US in more than 20 years.

The company said it is also one of the largest investments in UK manufacturing since Brexit....(Continued at link)

My brother in law works at the Heinz site in Wigan, but I had no idea that they didn’t manufacture Ketchup there - I’d have expected it to be one of their staple products!!

If anyone is interested, have a guess how many tins of baked beans are manufactured at the Wigan plant in one week then check your answer on the Heinz Wigan Wikki page.

I’m assuming that it’s cheaper to make a plastic bottle rather than glass - but Heinz Ketchup is always more expensive in plastic than in glass (by volume or weight) - I guess most people consider it more convenient?

I hate those upside down plastic containers, they gather the ketchup in the cap and when I open the lid it's full if ketchup. If I store it right side up, when I turn it to squeeze out some ketchup, about a spoonful of water pours on my food. I have seen glass bottles of said product on Villa's shelves and will purchase one next time. That is if the price has not become exorbitant like all the other imports.

The cost of shipping from the EU to Asia has risen by $10,000 a shipment. I don't know what the current cost is from the US but it's probably similar. I'll pass on the 300bht a bottle of Newman's salad dressing.

Seriously..... ? Guess you need some advice on how to use the plastic bottle. That said, we do need to move away from plastic - glass yes, but I'm sure others.....

Anywho, sorry - not exactly to the subject!!

Personally I'm still searching for EZY-Sauce which is still impossible to find outside of Aus...... Damn can you make wonderful sauces using that as a base.

I blame Aus friends who introduced me to the stuff when I was living in China - they get me hooked on the stuff and then leave me high and dry!! :cuss:

Simply can't find it anywhere and my working days in Aus are over (covering elsewhere now).... Will have to beg others Downunder to bring a "Red Cross Package"!! Can't understand why it's not exported - sold by Woolworths in Aus from memory....

Great, great base! :thumb:

[EDIT] This is the gear.....
