Water filter - how to manual operate?

Post by huahin4ever »

I have a water filter installed and according to the supplier it is set to back wash, regenerate and rinse every 7 days. Since the timing circuit is not controlled by date and time just number of days, every time the power is gone the 7 day sequence is reset. Unfortunately this happens too frequent, so I would like to do it manually sometimes.

The instruction manual is only in Thai, so if someone could translate it would be much appreciated.

I am able to switch it into manual, but what I do not know is if each operation has to be done manually, or if I start the sequence with back wash which is the first operation, it will continue with all the steps automatically until it is back in filter mode? Maybe someone here has the same filter and knows how it is working/how to operate manually?

I have attached a picture of the filter and the page in the instruction manual covering manual operation.ImageImage

Geez, what else has to have an electronic control! I recently became aware that most new types of simple house water pumps are now using an electronic pressure switch, which is prone to failure!

I cannot translate the Thai, but surely, if the control is set to "manual" then that means the whole operation has to be done by hand? You may have to do this if for example you have a very dirty water supply and back flush it for a longer period.

But then, it may depend on whose logic is used. If it is Thai logic then all bets are off!
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!

Good luck with understanding that. You can translate images at link: https://translate.yandex.com/ocr. There may be other image text translators out there. I only found this one.

No you have to step through each step manually (by pressing Manual button), therefore you know the duration of each part of the full cycle.

My Thai is negligible and don't know much about such filters but some Zen, telepathy, or reverse engineering often can help

1.
Press Auto once to stop the Auto mode. The Auto indicator will go OFF while the Filter indicator remains ON.
2.
Press Manual once to start the process (i.e. the backwash step) and let it go for about 7 mins. The Filter indicator will go OFF & Backwash will go ON.
3.
Press Manual once to start the regeneration step and let it go for about 40 mins. The Backwash indicator will go OFF and Regenerate will go ON.
For a CTA-F filter there is no (resin) regeneration with salt so will skip 2 steps (3 & 4).
4.
Press Manual once to start rinsing that will take about 5 mins. The Regenerate indicator will go OFF and Rinse will go ON.
5.
Press Manual once to start filtration in manual mode. The Rinse indicator will go OFF and Filter will go ON.
6.
Press Auto once to start filtration in auto mode. The Auto indicator will go ON and Filter remains ON.
