I will merge this with the existing thread, but you will see from recent posts in that thread that Winter Wind has some very good reports.

Okay, I did find the phone number for them. But the last person reporting here, who tried to contact them on their number, couldnt get a response and it was left at that. I will ask the other half to call this evening.

Winter Wind Co. is owned by Mrs. GNs best pal... didn't realise but just confirmed with her just now.
The owner is not an English speaker but his wife is. If anyone has difficulty getting hold of them or not happy with the service you can P.M. me and I will feedback. Don't ask me for a discount as we don't even get that.

Good to hear the positive reports about Winter Wind but I did not see any names or phone numbers. Could you please provide and are they in Cha Am or Hua Hin?

The room size is only one of several considerations, such as aspect, insulation, windows, etc.,
but 12,000 BTU should be adequate for your floor size.

There is some good info at the following, but one thing that I would suggest is that you buy an inverter type aircon. They are much cheaper to run, and are now reliable.

I had heard the inverter type aircon units (not sure of the brand) were prone to being 'blown up' by geckoes.
Apparently the geckoes were crawling into the space between two circuit boards and shorting them out and causing damage to the point the boards had to be replaced....10K baht.

Has anyone been affected by this????.
