I was at our local Pharmacy in Cha Am and mentioned that I was undergoing treatment from Dr Wittaya and the pharmacist told me he was the best in the area.

Two points please

1. Do you know if Wittaya is a Prostate Cancer specialist? Just because he's a fine Urologist doesn't mean he's the man the Prostate Cancer etc

2. There must be lots and lots of farangs in Hua Hin with Prostate cancer. Where do they go for advice/treatment etc. I suspect it is to Bangkok but who and where? I suspect one or two Doctors get many referrals form buddies in Hua Hin (do I need to start a separate thread for Prostate Cancer?)

Thanks

He’s certainly a prostate specialist and also operated on me to repair an inguinal hernia and I believe he deals with cancer diagnosis etc, but I can ask him on Monday when I have my next appointment?

Yes that would be great thanks Danny

My PSA levels have recently gone berserk and so I'm having some MRI work done which should reveal more(for whoever I choose to consult with)

But im looking ahead, down the road so to speak, at trying to get on board with a Prostate *Cancer* specialist who can advise, give options and treat.

And if that's Wittaya great, but I assumed I'd have to go to Bangkok

As said there must be many guys in Hua Hin with Prostate Cancer and/or some recovering from it.

I'd be interested to hear who and wherever they go to ??

Thanks

I saw Dr Wittaya this morning and asked the question and he was open that he himself is not a specialist with Prostate Cancer, however he’s amongst a group of around 400 Urologist Doctors who share information and he knows of a number of specialists. He recommended that you visit him to discuss your history and current condition and he can then advise your next steps. I posted his location details previously and they do early morning clinics (before 9.00 am) or late afternoon (after 4.30pm). Good luck.

Really appreciate that Dannie Image

What are the recommended times to arrive for both the morning and evening clinics? As I assume its first come first served

Thanks again

I always go early and aim to arrive by 8.00am or before - avoid Mondays as I’ve just found out, it’s a lot busier and Dr Wittaya recommended Wednesday or Thursday to avoid the big queues.

Saw him last night, smashing fella!

Very good recommendation, thank you for that. Very good English speaking. He's business like medically speaking(which is fine) but also has caring manner too which I think is important

I would see him again happily despite the ball ache journey from central Hua Hin(1000 baht return)

Cheers

Glad it was a worthwhile journey, although I hadn’t realised you were reliant on a taxi to get you there, but having said that, a 1000 Baht for a return journey is not bad by HH standards!!

Strangely enough, I think he prefers Farangs to Thais and not because of any potential financial gain - as far as I’m aware, he charges everybody the same prices.
