Does anyone know of TV repair shop Hua Hin? I'm having problems with my Samsung plasma TV (model PN64F8500).

Plasma TV screens die after a certain number of years. I had a Panasonic which lasted for about 15, then that was it. Screen nothing but multiple coloured lines.

Cruising around Google there doesn't seem to be much advertised. It may be worth going to the Samsung Center in Market Village (if still there) and asking their advice.

My experience so far with multiple TV's failing that it is not worth it to try to repair. Our last "repair" job was a nother failure resulting in us just having to purchase a new model which always has been the case in the past. You can now get a lot more TV for your baht than what you purchased your old TV for.

I’d agree with that, Plasma TV’s were good in their day, but now the latest specs are far superior and considerably less power hungry.

Not too long ago, I bought an 86" UHD Smart LED TV for under 70K.

Prices are way down. OLED is the new way to go. More expensive at the moment, but they'll come down in the next year or so.

A thought about Making your TV and other electronics last longer. Almost everyone uses a UPS for their computer equipment but no protection against voltage spikes, surgees, brpwnouts, for other equal or costlier electronics, such as TVs, sound bars, refrigerators, etc.

Most electronics will receive benefit of longer life with voltage regulation / stabilization to smooth out the crazy roller coaster electricity supply they live with here. But do not need battery backup such as provided by UPS to computer equipment. We have three 1000VA automatic voltage stabilizers in different rooms that we bought in Malaysia. And a nice 1000VA Zircon (KB-Series RL) that is available at Lazada but we bought ours far cheaper right here in Hua Hin at Power Buy. Automatic voltage stabilizers can give higher capacity protection than a UPS at less cost but without battery backup, which most of your stuff does not need anyway.

We have had big voltage spikes and surges. Especially when builders were using large equipment next door. And huge spikes and fluctuations when a power company transformer had end of life schizophrenia which caused one of our voltage regulators to make smoke and had that expensive smell for a long time but does continue to work and did save our TV. But that same spike cooked the power cube plus the internal charging circuitry in a Macbook Pro, so do not be lulled into believing laptops do not need protection.

Think about it, you are what you eat, and your electronics cannot live forever on garbage either
