The police have definitely been in action - Soi 94 looked like it was under curfew at 10.45 on Saturday night when we drove down there - total darkness everywhere.

Yes, I drove both ways at around 7pm yesterday and it was like the Las Vegas strip - neon lights everywhere, except Wonderland.

I took friends back to their hotel about 11pm, and it was in darkness.

Of course, 10pm is the official closing time.

The order afaik is that restaurants can serve alcohol until 10pm. I'm not sure if the order also states a closing time of 10pm.

Binterbaht seems to have been written off by most on this board. Well, expect to see some old favorites coming back in the next couple of days. The London and Murphy's to name a couple.
The bars can only do well if the farangs stay in the nearby hotels, but I for one am looking forward to a few good nights out in Binterland.

That sounds encouraging. However, people are probably getting into the habit of going elsewhere, and most likely getting into the habit of paying less for their beer. If Test & Go stops you can say goodbye to foreign visitors, and I'm not sure of the incentive for enough locals to go back into Binthablock.

It has been chipped away bit by bit for years. 20 years ago it was going to be halved with planned zoning using the temple and the school for justification. Since then, 7/11 and other non-bar businesses have appeared. It's always been on the cards for redevelopment by the authorities who want to rid the area of it's reputation. The problem being that the whole area is owned by, I believe, one family. This covid pandemic looks like it'll do just what 'they' wanted.

Interesting. A refurbished London bar with one of the good bands on(Crazy Bull etc) would get me back for at least a pint and a look see.....

Are you aware of a reopening date Robin of Loxley?

"Are you aware of a reopening date Robin of Loxley? "

Both making preparations, no formal dates but a weekend would be the logical time to take a look.

According to a local source(but not the best source I have)

I'm hearing now that Wonderland may be closed for another 7 days

Apparently they didn't have the appropriate accreditation/paperwork

They are beavering away trying to get approval. I'd love to be a fly on the wall at that meeting!

How they get around the restaurant requirements God only knows but I hope they do

They already have a 'food bar' (or so I believe) so they call the whole thing a single entity restaurant. The 'straw umbrellas as seating for the 'restaurant' which are sub-let within the business. Finances worked out internally.

"Welcome to the Wonderland Restaurant"!

Simple!

Murphys have been on social media this evening saying they are open.

Yes the shipping container at the front opposite 7 11....

Another 'meeting' tomorrow, or set of negotiations

IMHO Murphys won't move the needle for Bintablock

If London Bar gets their bands back and X Club Bar opposite gets its quota of girls, then you may see some people making the effort to go into town, especially as Wonderland is currently closed.
