Have you watched most Thai drivers trying to reverse a car? The majority of them are utterly hopeless. I'm talking 3 to 5 attempts to reverse into a standard space that should present no difficulty at all.
What's more, they can't even drive forward into a space correctly. They do so at the worst possible angle, thus completely screwing themselves when it comes to backing out again!
Yes, and Thai parking spaces are much more generous than those you find in the UK.
Reversing my truck I have absolutely no problem whatsoever, but I'm the first to admit I struggle driving forward into a parking space . I think it is the length of my truck - I always seem to park at a slight angle.
Whilst talking multi-storey car parks, you often find absolute mayhem at lower levels with cars abandoned anywhere they perceive there is a space. Meanwhile, upper levels are often only half full.
I don't actually drive here myself but in terms of motoring....
My eardrums are occasionally violently assaulted by the noise some vehicles make. It can be extremely unpleasant.
The first thing I would do if Transport Minister is ban all these excessively noisy vehicles, mostly flat bed trucks but sometimes motorbikes.
There would be an immediate confiscation and pounding of said vehicle which would then be destroyed in one of those car crushers.
This would then be compulsory viewing by millions, broadcasted every morning on YouTube in which the owner/driver will then be informed that they get no compensation for vehicle.
Well Colonel, newly appointed Minister of Transport,
you could even go a step further with the vehicles, trucks, cars, bikes that belch black shite out the back, sometimes so much you cant see, if thats the one making the noise
if they can afford to fill it up, then they can get it serviced, or its off to the crusher...
maybe some of those 3 .5 million police who were lining the road a few weeks ago could be deployed to address the problem,
or not...

While you’re crushing the vehicles with noisy exhausts and those that belch thick black smoke, can you also include the pickups with 10,000 watt speakers!!

They are usually one in the same but yes either is equally offensive and will be eradicated under my new bill.

Actually, they start the MOTs after the vehicle passes the 7 year mark, after that annual inspections that need to be passed before you are able to renew your road tax.

Yes, as you rightly inform me that is the law as it's written.
But we all know that what happens in reality is something quite different.
Just try bucking this law! I know of nobody that has done so. The 'test centres' have to provide diagnostic print out of the result. Failure to do so they lose their lucrative licence.
That's why there are so many unlicensed vehicles on the road. Couldn't get the 'MOT', so couldn't get their new licence sticker. Therefore ignore and carry on driving.
