Exchanging language skills

Post by Jackes »

Hi, I'll be moving to Hua Hin soon and was wondering if it's easy to find a local person to teach me Thai in exchange for me teaching/ improving their English skills, I'm not a total beginner, I did a few night school coures in the UK. I was thinking along the lines of meeting for a couple of hours a week in a cafe or somewhere similar. Any ideas?

There used to be a French guy with very good English skills held 'court' on Takieb beach. He charged nothing for teaching English and benefited from mixing with the Thai language. His payment: He ate for free.
He was well liked and I'm sure he got the benefit of 'sense of achievement'.

I'm sure there are many who would appreciate the effort.
