I don't know what Root had for breakfast, but he's going hell for leather this morning! He's scored 23 from 12 balls...

Brook also out on 46 before lunch - that 300+ target I heard earlier could be in question now(?)

So do they risk declaring in the hope of bowling the Crims out?

Apparently (with England @ 248-8), "Australia haven't made this many to win an Ashes Test since 1948." (from BBC).....

The Aussies bowled us out. They need 280 to win. The pitch is a pudding. Moeen Ali probably can't bowl much. The Aussies are firm favourites. We need early wickets to have a chance.

The Aussies are 107-3 after some excellent bowling, particularly from Stuart Broad. It's anybody's game, and a lot depends on the weather tomorrow. Not just a question of rain, but cloud, humidity, etc. which cause the ball to swing. And the atmosphere! The crowd are fantastic - I wish I was there.

EDIT: And I meant to add that I absolutely hate Kevin Pieterson's commentary. Great batsman, but a bit of a tosser and an awful commentator. I don't like his use of English, his exaggerated tone or, frankly, the sound of his voice! He repeats himself all the time, he uses expressions like 'very, very very...' and 'mighty fine' and manages to describe the same thing in 3 different ways. Winds me up (as you might have guessed...).

Disappointing, but what a fantastic game, and certainly no shame in losing that one. Has to be said that the Aussies definitely had the rub of the green, mind...

Hell's teeth - you're not blaming the ref umpire are you DM

Didn't watch it, but did keep up with the score and highlights on BBC - certainly seems to have been quite a test match! :thumb:
