So what's the odds on him finding a job in Saudi and a few more million for his bank account (of course in addition to whatever payoff Roma give him).... The poor guy needs to top up his Pension fund after all

I'm delighted to see an England footballer departing Sunday League football for a half decent side.

I notice you've signed our young starlet Alfie Devine on loan BB. Very promising player who's getting some good minutes in now on loan deals.
Hopefully he continues to improve and get match time at Plymouth.

Aw bless. Our resident rugby guy giving football commentary a go
Players are loaned out to get match time and experience. Harry Kane was the same. With regards to Alfie, he had a fairly successful loan spell in league one with Port Vale. Now they (Tottenham) feel the time is right for a step up and a run in the championship with Plymouth.

Re: Football (not Premier League)
Yes, in Plymouth's case, they've really suffered with loan players this season. The head coach moved on to Stoke, and all of the loan players were recalled by their parent clubs - obviously the parent clubs had a lot of faith in the coaches style. That left Plymouth with half a team.
Thankfully the new coach has done a lot of good stuff at senior and national levels and he has been able to recruit some class (I hope) replacements, some on loan, some permanently. Of course, only time will tell.
A 'poor' team like Plymouth always works with about 1/3rd of the first team squad as loanees. It is in the loanee's interest to get noticed at the lower level, and hopefully get called back to their home club for stardom.

Re: Football (not Premier League)
The other times players are loaned out is when the team wants rid but there's no-one willing to stump up money. Below is our record signing, £200k a week player who was often accused of not making an effort at Tottenham. Now loaned to Galatasary, he doesn't appear to be making much effort there either. Christ.

Absolute waste of talent Ndombele. Insanely gifted but never tempted to do the 110% of a professional athlete. Every team we've loaned him to (option to buy) have got rid.
Worst signing in our history.
