Re: Fresh Bread
Only if you’re young and pretty
Have you ever thought of making your own, it might be a little intimidating at first, but I’ve been making bread for over 30 years and it’s almost therapeutic!!

Re: Fresh Bread
I make mine by hand - two large loaves at a time so with flour and water close to 2.5 kg, so I get a good 10 minute workout pummelling the dough!! I use ordinary Swan Bread Flour available everywhere.

Re: Fresh Bread
Have been using a few variations over the time here with
the white stuff, Wholemeal and Rye
even tried it with rice bran oil, the oil i cook with, instead of olive oil, and the results are molto bene....

Re: Fresh Bread
I never put any form of fat in the bread, just flour, water salt and yeast.
Re: Fresh Bread
Hi DB,
Those loaves look delicious.
Could you describe exactly how you make them? as I'd love to be able to do the same.

Re: Fresh Bread
I basically follow this method - the kneading is a bit different than most standard methods but once you get the hang of it it’s fairly straightforward. One of the biggest challenges you might find out here, is getting a good sized tin which ideally needs fairly high sides - I bought mine in the UK and smuggled them in!!
The basic bread dough can be used to make different shaped loaves or rolls - maybe I’ll post some examples later.
Take a look at this video and ask if you have any further questions.

Re: Fresh Bread
Different size tins first ones are both 3lb size, second photo are 1lb and 2lb size, also in one of the photos is a cast iron Dutch oven that makes an even bigger loaf.

Re: Fresh Bread
Where do you find yeast in Hua Hin ? i searched but only found dry yeast in powder, not really suitable for a french style bread that il like.Dannie Boy wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 8:59 pm I never put any form of fat in the bread, just flour, water salt and yeast.
