That Songkran question again !

Post by Bangkokney »

What dates are public holidays in HH for the up coming Songkran ? I'm looking for days out of the 'Big Mango' preferably not going up country.

I've 'done' Songkran 'opp narth' in deepest Essarn as early as the 11th. Very mild bowl splashing and 'beng' amongst the elders with iced water being provided especially for 'Buksida whoore laan' !!!

I've 'done' the regular thing here in Bangers around 12/13/14/15. As a side note : last year had to smack a falang (big German buggar) for shoving my 7 year old daughter in Sukhumvit high road cos she squirted him with a kiddies water pistol at 2pm !!!

I've 'done' the excuse for Songkran down in Pattaya over the 18th. which is just falang madness; morning, noon and night. Nothing to do with Songran in the slightest just drunk morons causing trouble.

Don't like 'silly' Songkran much any more (bah humbug getting old and done too many to remember) but am quite happy to enjoy some water throwing with T2 (ILY2M's replacement) and the daughter... just hoping HH is a little more laid back than either BKK or PTY and not on silly dates.

Also done the Issan trip, 5 days of shower, powder and Sangsom at 7am.

Done the Samui trip with the drunken farangs and pissed off hookers.

Had the wet one in Hua Hin 3 times now also, its only one day of mayhem - 13th and it starts and finishes early. Roads are impassable and its easily avoided providing you have your own Anderson Shelter.

This year I'll be getting wet on Koh Tao .... 30 metres under the ocean!

Bubble making

Buksida,

If you are into 'bubble making' check out this site. Find the 'Under Construction' stuff and look how well I taught him back in the 60s - catch em young!

So Buk (The Village Idiot),

You are telling me that the dates are the same as Bangers ? PERFECT !

I have no problem in 'taking part' but the 'rules' say stop when the sun goes down ! this is the part the drunken farang don't seem to want to understand   one, two or even three DAYS of fun is fine by me but the evenings and nights piss me right off !

What is the Koh Tao trip gonna run you for ? Tight budget me what with changing jobs paying school fees etc next month. Have an Advanced P.A.D.I (and an Expert M.U.P.H  ) license but have not done bubbles (other than 'I'm forever blowing' ...) for the last 3 years ... might be a 'trip' worth thinking about
