New visa rules problem?

Post by ting-tong »

I have friends that had plans to move to Thailand, but dont know what to
do anymore.Since they are not married to aThai or old enough for a retierment visa.

so it would be interesting to hear if anybody encountered any problems yet? Because of the new rules. Any kind of visa.

They can apply for a non-immigrant 'O' visa, these still seem to be issued ok. They are valid for a year (15 months in reality) and you have to do a visa-run every 90 days.

Alternatively when they settle here, they can change to a non-immigrant 'B' visa if they form a company and do some kind of small business (they will need a work permit.)
You do not need to do 90 day visa runs with these, only report to police station every 90 days.
