Told that there are changes to phone numbers in Thailand from today.Can any one please clarify what they are?
How do they apply when calling from outside the country?
So far we have had 3 Thais give us 4(!) versions on what to do.
Changes to Thai phone numbers
The change applies to all mobile numbers.
Landline numbers are unaffected.
All mobile phone numbers have been increased from nine (9) to ten (10) digits. Whereas these numbers always used to start with a zero (0), they now start with a zero eight (08).
Example:
If your lady friend's number was 09 441 6602,
it is now 089 441 6602
