Macka Bucha

Post by PeteC »

It's today and a small explanation is available at the link below, although it has to do with 2006 and not specifically this year.

The moon is full over here and a dark orange. The orange may be air pollution, I don't know but it is a pretty sight.

Pattaya was packed today with Bangkonians fleeing for the 3 day holiday. Also, the internet is jammed today and probably will be Sunday and Monday with kids playing on-line games as no school and full holiday on Monday.

Anyway, just a bit of Thai culture. Pete

Yes, Winkie....LOL. I've just been accused by my better half of either sniffing or smoking the little packages of oregano that come with Pizza Company deliveries.

Apparently when I removed January from the Thai wall calendar, I also tore off February, therefore I was looking at March. Pattaya is indeed wall to wall traffic today which strengthened my illusions.

Sorry for the confusion but it is a good story, just save it and view next month. Pete

Wouldn't worry about it Pete. I swear I read somewhere that Chinese New Year was 28th & 29th January. So, when I saw a big festival at Wat Etisukato on 28th, put 2 and 2 together... I was really surprised when Mum in HK didn't mention it, so I asked how she was occupying herself over the holiday. I took some convincing that it wasn't till the middle of this month. Funny how you get things into your head...

The moon normally reflect the light of the sun, if the moon is close to the Eath shadow, some of this light goes trough the Earths Statosphere. This can at times be polluted by dust - e.i. after the outbreak of Mt. Helena and Mt. Pinatubo some years ago, or desertstorms in Africa, and then the moon seems to glow in shades of dark orange, a lighter orange is due to same reson, the moon just out of of Earth shadow, and then only get filtered once.
