your favourite excursions around hua hin?

Post by seasides »

just been at pala-u - wonderful, swimming inmidst all those fishes, unbelievable that this is still possible in thailand.

thought those fishes should have been caught and eaten long time already.

what are your favourite excursions around hua hin?

especially nature-wise?

Yeah, Pala U is a good spot, pearticularly after there's been a bit of consistent rain in the hills. I don't think catching the fish is allowed, however that fact hasn't always put people off elsewhere - it's national park territory.
If you havn't seen any of these places before, or the site, take a look at:

I was up there a couple of years ago with a car full of Issan girls and those fish never stood a chance; there wasn't a fishing rod in sight either!

Only been to PalaU once and wasn't that impressed, was a long weekend though so half of Bangkok was there too.

Places I do enjoy are the beaches at Khao Kalok, Ao Manao and further south, they just feel more Thai and less touristy, this is confirmed by the local prices there!

One place I haven't been to but would love to see is Kaeng Krachan, looks fantastic, has anyone been?

I just had a look at Kaeng Krachan on the web and it looks interesting. I’ve been threatening to take my partner camping somewhere in Thailand and I see they have a site up there. If I have the time I’ll give it a visit but I see that it’s closed from August to October so maybe at the end of the year.

I have been at the big lake Kaeng Krchan, and this is a beautiful place.
You can rent a boat and stay there for hours because of the beauty scenery and the peaceful place.
I don't recommend going there in the weekends though.
Why?
Find out for yourself.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Another nice place to go is the coastline of Pran Buri where you can see the fishing boats and a bit of their fishing industry.

They have also made a wooden path through the mangrove forest in Otayan Pran Buri which is quite a nice walk if the temperature is not too high.
If you have never been in, or seen a mangrove forest before it's worth a go.

After that you can proceed to Sam Roi Yot National Park and have a look at caves and watch all the birds there.
If you go to the cave however, I would strongly suggest you bring your mosquito repellent and add this before entering the caves.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.
