Taxi to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport

Post by papichulo »

Would love to hear from the experienced guys who have made this trip as I have been quoted frm 2K baht to 1.8, 1.6 etc. Whats the fair rate to pay?

Also does it help to lock in a booking a few days before the trip? maybe they charge more if they think you desperately need a ride then and there.

Thanks

You can book it online here:

www.taxihuahin.net

Granted it maybe a little cheaper if you want to hunt around (and those prices seem to be before the fuel hike) but if you want a reliable service and online booking you can't go wrong. I've used their minivan service before and couldn't fault it.

Welcome to HHAD btw!

The 2k downward price would seem to be pretty fair coming from the new airport. I was in HH this time last year and paid much the same price to the old airport.

From Suvanabumi you can pick up a taxi off the street that will take you to Hua Hin for 2500 bt, you might get refused once or twice if the driver doesn’t want to go that far but I’ve never had to ask more than three.
From Hua Hin there are many services that will get you to the airport for 2000 bt and if you are in a hurry it is not that difficult to find one that will do it immediately.

1500 is a darn good price since it costs at least a thousand in gas to get there and back. The driver is doing 6 hours work for 500 baht  (unless of course he can get s fare for the return trip) ... PM me his number

Appreciate this is going "off road" - but would someone please advise if there are any flights from BKK to HH yet?

If so, what is the cost?

Thanks - bradders

Try this link bradders.
http://www.sga.co.th/en-GB/index.html

One way ticket will cost you 3,300 Baht, not bad as long as you're the only person. A taxi will cost between 1500 to 2000 Bt.
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

The flight from HH to BKK is with a 12 seat, single engine Cessna Caravan aircraft and is not 100 percent reliable, so be a bit wary of using it to catch a flight out, but I’ve been told it’s a pleasant flight with good views of the coast so it might be worth it just for the experience.

Just checked-out the BKK to HH flight schedule & price

3 flights per day - each way - and current cost is 2,950 baht each way (possibly low season rate)

actual flight time is circa 30 minutes - overall 'travelling time' is stated approx 45/60 minutes

as it's a single engine maybe it takes 10 to 15 minutes to get airborne - only joking!!

Thanks Steve G for your info - yes, a single engine is a concern ......

I hope that you mean that the schedule is not 100% reliable? The aircraft is a turbo-prop, not a Cessna 150 training aircraft, and as such has an impeccable saftey record.

Taxi airport to HH

Post by Pagey »

Nokyai or Papichulo

Can I have your driver's number. I arrive at the airport at 6.30 pm on Sunday July 15th.

I was going to send a PM but can't remember how to.
