We all love Minifarm on Phetskasem Road, hard by the soi 63. They have excellent, fresh, organically grown veggies and other nice stuff. For some while they have had a restaurant on the other side of the tracks. One crosses the railroad on 88, hangs a right and walks on about 50 meters. Minifarm Kitchen is there on the left, very close to the best Ba Me Moo Dang hawker in town.
Crossing the railroad at 88 one might keep on going straight past the 7/11 and Mr. Tum (whose food of late has been much too oily, quite as on Chang Sawan on 88 ). Keep on going for 3 – 400 meters and after the slight bend to left there’s a good new Moo Kra Taa place on the right.
It’s 85 baht and there’s a special of 3 x Large Leo for a 100 baht. They have good selection and the food is fresh and clean.
BTW, does anyone ever get any benefit from these notes on something that most of the people on board already know?
Decent chow.

yea I get something out of it. I might learn what "the best Ba Me Moo Dang" is. looks like something to do with pork red. they do a good massaman curry chicken at MiniFarm. had cardamon pods in it, I think. very tasty, and my favorite on their menu is fried morningglory in ancient sauce. OUTSTANDING

BamBams, Kims, MoonSmilePlatoo all do good Tom Yam.
This information is very helpful to us visitors who only have two weeks at a time, not very long to find good places without inside knowledge. Thanks to the tips on here we have had some great meals in HH.
Also an explanation of the food i.e. ba me moo dang, is always helpful for us not in the know.
Thanks again

Re: descent chow
"ba", "sen" the dictionary says both mean the same thing. I tend to use "sen". No clue if this is something special that the dictionary doesn't cover, i.e., what is the real difference between "sen" and "ba"?BaaBaa. wrote:Egg noodles with Red(BBQ) pork.huahinsimon wrote:I might learn what "the best Ba Me Moo Dang" is. looks like something to do with pork red.
White courtesy phone please Khun Understudy and/or Bamboo Grove, or anyone in the know. Pete

I've always thought that 'ba mee' was egg noodles - as opposed to rice noodles. 'Sen mee' are glass noodles, you can also have 'sen lek' slightly larger, or 'sen yai' obviously the flat, large noodly bits you have with 'pad see yew' (excuse the transliteration).
The best 'ba mee moo daeng' in Bangkok is in Soi Pra Pinij a small side road off Soi Suan Plu (where the Immigration Office is). You just have to catch the vendor before he's downed too many bottles of Sang Thip!
Haven't found one comparable in this area. Or maybe someone knows better...

Thanks VS. I guess good old Robertson's has it wrong then as both words are listed as "Chinese egg noodles, yellow".
