Busses to and from Bangkok

Post by berntre »

I saw in another thread that there is a new bus station in Bangkok. This is for the blue/white busses i presume. Some Thai GF told me that there is smaller busses (vans??) with appr 10 seats leaving every hour. Anyone know where to find those "mini-busses"? I was told that they go to a BTS station, that would also make it easier to connect into Bangkok city center. What is the cost for this busses, and are they comfortable? Information appreciated....

The minibus station is not outside the hospital now. It's still close to Victory Monument but someone else will have to describe exactly where. When I arrived there I was in too much of a hurry to get a taxi to the airport to take much note of the new stopping place.

In September they were still selling the tickets outside the hospital fence but the vans were parked in a gas station parking lot about 5-10 min. walk around the corner and along under the skytrain elevated guideway.

Mini vans

Post by T.I.G.R. »

Under the Victory Monument stop of the Skytrain there is a Century Theatre....look for all the vans parked there.

The mini vans now arrive and depart from that parking lot. There are guys there at little tables like always and they'll tell you when to get on and which one etc.

Can anyone tell me if the mini vans are still leaving Hua Hin across from the mini Tesco. The building is gone and didn't see the ticket desk. Thanks

Vans to Bangkok

Post by T.I.G.R. »

Go down the same street as before across from Tesco gas Stn. by the Motorcycle shop. Tix can be purchased in the second door from the right at the building on the end. Vans load up right in front of the building.

It's only fifty feet or so to the left of the old building.

Exit the BTS station by the back end going away from the hospital, take the stairs down to your left and you will see a cinema. Minivans are in the parking lot of the cinema.
Actually easier than the old location.
