Samui resort recommendations

Post by buksida »

Thinking of spending a couple of nights there between xmas and new year, been many times before but usually on my own and stay in a hovel.

Any recommendations on something half decent with a pool preferably in one of the quieter areas? Budget around 2,000 - 2,500 a night.

Looked at a few from the Sawadee list here:

But theres far too many and they all get mixed reviews!

Ive been to Samui several Times.....
from when i was a younger one till now...

Used to stay Central in Changweng
Didnt mind the noise and ladydees etc....but now hitched
and grey....

I stay at the First House (theres a website)
There an ocean liner theme going on at the poolside...
The rooms looking over the poolside are pretty good
there are other rooms away from the pool and main complex
cheap as chips but dont do it!!!

Its about 5 mins from the main 'town' ie the Green Mango
/ restaurents etc
We stayed there the last 3 years... Its quiet and friendly
and v reasonable... The wifes friends used to work there we
get a special rate! but honestly its around the 1200-1500B mark
Free breaky and a fab pool....Ill be going back.

New years in Samui is fun...We paid at bit through the nose
(to be expected really) at some beach hotel for a posh meal and
entertainment....Loved it

You kind of turn off the road and turn into a small complex
there other shop and hotels there.... great find.... Ive been
to more expensive places... but i like it....

Hope this helps....

oops back to work

19 paydays to go :)
