MotoGP
Moto Gp vs Superbikes?
I get down to both the events here in Victoria held on "the island". Super's are my preferred - much nicer crowd of biker officianados as opposed to the would be's. Nicer smells and sounds to from the range of bikes racing. Lucky to meet Troy Bayliss and got pic with him! A bloody nice bloke and "not up himself" like some of the other Oz past winners!
I am looking forward to the 100 -125 burn off's in HH when I get there next month. Could be some good local talent ha, ha.

Charlesh: Parhandy's got an Aunt in Somers (Mornington Peninsular). We stayed at her house last year and could see Phillip Island from her balcony. We're already trying to plan a trip back to include the MotoGP or the Superbikes. Nice to hear that Troy's an OK guy - but he's an Aus. so you wouldn't really expect anything else...

Someone asked if they still race at the Scarbrough
Yes they do. My friend and fellow competitor races and wins
there Check out Davebellracing. and The club we all are in
is the North East motorcycle racing club there is a canny website.
I race in the Minitwins championship and run up the front.
Im into all forms of bike racing BSB, WSB AMA MOTOGP etc
and love a weekend away at the TT or NW200 for a boys beer
weekend....
Love talking bikes past and presant
Would pull the weeds out in the rain rather than watch football
or have a night of the screaming abb dabs hahaha
Seriously though i know im in the minority...
Id kick a ball around with mates but id not pay to watch
grown over paid men kicking a pig skin around...
ill stop now before i get nurfed off the forum!!!!
Anyways roll on Donington Motogp at the Weekend!!!
Can James be the first
since Barry Sheene to win the big race....
Top 6 be good....i think his race craft will let him down a little

Hi Fach,
Welcome aboard the MotoGP circuit. I guess you're not going down to Donington, it's a bit of a trek from Newcastle! Parahandy and I are really looking forward to watching the race next weekend. I absolutely love that beautiful circuit (almost as much as Brands). Both P. and I had a bit of fun driving Formula Fords round there about 15 years ago.
Yeh, fingers crossed for James. Be nice to see him on the podium, but, a bit of a tall order for this year. He needs to settle in to MotoGP, not do anything crazy and build up his confidence for next year.
RC: Barry Sheen, my hero - so handsome, so brave, and such a lovely person. Sad, sad loss when he went to that circuit in the sky way too early.

Just a reminder about tomorrow.
MotoGP live from Donington on ESPN at 5.57pm (that'll be the 125s and 250s). The 500s will start at 9pm. Just to confuse things a tad, there's also a F1 Grand Prix. It starts at 6.45pm on Star Sports and finishes around 8.45pm. So, if you keep your finger on the remote control you can possibly watch the 125s (and maybe a bit of the 250s) on ESPN, then scoot across to Star Sports. If F1 is boring, scoot back to ESPN and maybe catch more of the 250s.
Damn nuisance having them on the same weekend. Thank goodness we've got a video recorder, because Parahandy wants to watch the Indycar 250 aswell and it's on in the early hours of Monday.

Fingers crossed for our boys at Donington!!
Mind poor James Toseland had a hard time in qualifying
suprise suprise it was raining....
was around 6th and 8th in the first part
and as they everyone got quicker he had a fall coming on to the
start finish straight....they got him going but he was off again
4 bends later .....bit out of character but maybe the pressures on......
all the bike mags and fans have been expecting alot from him at his home round...
hes starting from 16th but i believe hell settle in and end up 6-8th
mind on the box would be in him i believe 100% he's got in him
Just the class is full of world champions like 15 barry sheenes!!!
Good luck to all the lads
125s - Bradley Smith , Danny Webb , Scott Redding ( bet one of this is up there!)
250 - Eugene Laverty - top 15 a point would be good - his bike is slug fast
Moto gp - James Toseland....
my Heart says put a fiver on top three Rossi from Stoner and Pedrosa
followed by Edwards Hayden and Toseland!
But i think Stoners got the weekend covered...rossi will be close
and they will just barge Pedrosa out the way....
Love Rossi to win....and Toseland to be 4/5/6th
Enjoy the GP......

Fach: I bet you didn't expect Scott to do so well. A bit of a surprise and, quite frankly, a bit of luck - and he's only fifteen!!
Don't know what happened in the 250s as we were watching an incredibly boring F1 race.
Have you got a crystal ball? You predicted the top three in the 500s, but did get the first two in the wrong order. Question: Is Casey Stoner that good, or has he just got the most powerful, best-handling bike in the paddock? And poor James, what a shame infront of his home crowd. I guess he was just trying a little bit too hard. He's on a steep learning curve, and Parahandy doesn't think he's got what it takes. I'd like to think he has, but then again, I thought the same about David Coulthard...

Vital Spark,
I had a feeling id get the results right....
Stoner from Rossi from Pedrosa
I kinda knew Stoner had it covered...and Rossi
would be second ...both Stoner and rossi keeping dani at bay...
Just i wanted Rossi to win....
Knew Scott Redding was talented but the win was great....
He gaped the leader in a few laps and pressured him....
Either way i believe he had it in the bag... as he'd caught up
and had half a second a lap in hand....
Mind in the Moto Gp Lorenzo is showing his mental strength
after some bad knocks ... i didnt wont to like the fella
but i know talent....never watched him the 250s....
but these ex 250 guys are the future motogp champions...
with regards to JT i remember him when he was 15
one of the lads i raced with Mick Corrigan borrowed him
a CBR600 at mallory within a handful of laps he was
right on the British Supersport pace....(faster than me!)
and his 990 Honda test (less than 10 laps) he was well up there too....
closer to the pace then when Dani and Nicky started on them...
There are riders far better and more naturally talented
than him but he works soo hard...i respect that....my
heart says he will only ever manage top of tier 2....4-6th
tier one being Rossi,Stoner,Pedrosa !!!
I Hope im wrong as he has shown he has alot in his
armoury....one of the biggest things is his ability
to adopt different riding styles for different bikes
Rossi is a genius a this!!!
I felt for him at the weekend mind.....
Anyhow to fill you in on the 250s....Kallio nicked it
2 other young guns where carving each other up all race
Kallio came through....got on there tails and sat there
one lap to go Simoncelli? and another tryed to outbraked
each other and both went wide Kallio popped through
crossed the line....popped the fastest lap of race in and won
classic stuff.....first time i watch the 250 for years....
Sorry to ramble on!!!!
Next weekend Assen....remember racings Satuday there!!!
Regards

Moto GP makes for good viewing for sure.
I'm going back to late 70's,maybe early 80's...Sheene's era.
I was at Scarbro' and this Kiwi guy on a Morakaki Z1000,blue n yellow,
straight bars,just blew everybody away.
He won the main race, came down the hill on the back wheel, chucked that big lump under the other riders on each hairpin..magic stuff!
His name..Graeme Crosby...anyone else see him race around this
time?...where is he now?

Ill do a bit digging on 'Croz'
I was too young to see him on the moriwaki
myself but know about it....he's currently doing the
parading scene around UK and euro on the the
Moriwaki...the advert was in classic bike mags
it had a half fairing and straight bars and looked
like cadwell mountain....in the ad.
Bit of an animal that bike....The forgotten era series
in the UK ...still racing similar bikes big 1260 kawasakis
in P&M frames etc....few TZ750 in there too....remember them?
more info on Croz later...
