You may jest Lomuamart, and I used to find the 'transgender' thing amusing, but I'm getting a little fed up with it.

Every class I teach at the university here has a mixture of (genetically) male and female. The 'hairslides, lipstick and Marilyn Monroe walk' is becoming more and more prevalent. It's so acceptable here that it's almost encouraged. The fact that male/female contact is frowned upon - separate dorms, no holding hands, etc., almost pushes these young people to go for the easy option. It's OK to sleep with your male/male or female/female pal and hold his/her hand.

I like gays, but I have a lovely gay friend that also cannot tolerate these 'Queens' (his words, not mine!).

No need to be confused - just go through the door with a sign depicting a human figure split in half - part man in blue and part woman in red. I guess if you choose that door, nobody cares.

Toilets

Post by darwinian »

Surely it should be sufficient to have just two facilities.
One for those who sit and one for those who stand when they pee.
That should sort out the boys from the girls and focus the minds of those who have not quite decided what they are.

Think you've got most of them there Kendo.

This gender confusion that many young men here seem to be afflicted by, and also the 'Toms', really is quite disturbing.

Agree with VS that it's almost encouraged here to a silly extent, they are always on TV playing the freaky side-kick.

They try very hard to be as outlandish as possible to be noticed.

Most Thai men stay well clear of them to the extent that they make me think that the Thai guys are shit scared of them, as they can be very violent. The Thai guys stay well away from them.

When you think about it, then it's a Thai man who has major psycological issues, maybe not problems but certainly issues, that finds comfort in wearing womens cloths and putting on make-up. I'm not anti or pro about this subject, just that there is a disproportionate number of them around and it appears that there are more and more of them as time goes along.

Back to thread issue, they should have a third set of toilets for these types as they are not really welcome in either of the male or female ones. Maybe the suggestion of having a sign with 1/2 male and 1/2 female images is a good idea.

Another good reason for doing this is because many of them are bi-sexual, heard stories of ladyboy students being kicked out of schools and colleges for touching up girls when they are drunk etc, etc and this just gets more and more disturbing the more you hear about it.

But for some reason it doesn't really bother the Thais too much.
OK, we have transvetites in the UK and other countries in the west, but it is nothing compared to here. Maybe it's just an asian thing.
