Re: Samba Restaurant @Venezia Mall

Went here last night, and for the price I thought it was fairly reasonable. Party of two, had the silver platter of 12 meats, a couple of bottles of water, 1200 baht tab. The chicken drumsticks and wings are quite good, fall off the bone, perfectly cooked, nice and tender. The pork was also good. Th...

Re: Magaritas

The owner was friendly and asked about the meal, but instead of pointing out problems to him there and then, you trash the place on an open forum....... sorry, shan't be taking your advice and will visit the place myself on my next visit. I realize that I could have pointed out the problems there a...

Re: Magaritas

As far as Mexican restaurants and this one in particular, I would not go back for the food or drinks. The owner/host was friendly and did ask about our meal, but knowing how things usually go when I complain, I decided against it and just won't return. First, the drinks, margaritas specifically, hav...

For better or worse?
Welcome!
Some might say better, others might say worse. Bangkok was a change of pace for me and I am certain Hua Hin will be another change. Like most things, it will take some getting used to.

Re: Warm greetings

From the 50000 foot view, not so much. Places may have changed names or been taken over by new owners but overall still feels mostly the same. Some places didn't even change names. There are many restaurants I recognize from 8 years ago. Soi Binta still being the main drag, it's smaller sister soi o...

Re: Bars on Soi 80

Soi 80 is more of an afternoon joint. Most evenings it dies early. If this place is an afternoon joint, they must just be closed in the evenings. I strolled down this soi today and while I am slightly exaggerating when I say there were about seven girls on the whole soi, it isn't by much. Throw in ...

Warm greetings

Greetings all! Thought I would introduce myself. A Bangkok veteran recently relocated to Hua Hin. I was once in Hua Hin about eight years ago. I see some things have changed, others not so much. I look forward to sharing my tales and adventures while I'm here and reading the advice and suggestions o...
